So I started this with the thought of "hey what if I drew that one sprite where Rafta is going in Nestor's eye except she's a person and she's kissing/licking it? Sticking her tongue in there?" Well I did a Google search and apparently there's a name for the licking of eyeballs and it's called "worming". Yes, "worming". She is worming him. I KNEW what had to be done about this. I immediately started the draft and went to bed. The next morning I revised it with new eyes and decided it needed to be more Violent to really capture what I was going for. It needed to be uglier, messier.... so that's what I did! Rafta's eyes are closed because she is unaware/oblivious to how much this is hurting Nestor. The deal with Nestor's more deadpan expression in the final is bc like. Hes sortof making himself numb to it. Like dissociation. On Rafta's closed eyes again: I dont want to paint Rafta as an evil villain because that's not what she is. She didn't know this would happen. She didn't know what she's feeling and she's just as much a victim as Nestor is. None of them Asked to be Turned Into Worms. This is "love".
