For anyone who missed this today, in the early hours this morning the Home Office tried to detain two asylum seekers from a street in Glasgow, Scotland. Before the van the two men had been put in could leave the street, neighbours surrounded it, crawled underneath it and prevented them from being driven away. Once news got out, hundreds of people from the area descended and stayed put until several hours later the government was forced to concede and release the men, escorting them to the local mosque
