Milos Wall Lizard (Podarcis milensis), male, family Lacertidae, Milos Island, Greece

giving a whole new meaning to the name wall lizard, this Podarcis virescens caught me by complete surprise with its novel hiding spot that proves decaying rural infrastructure still has its uses, although it could probably have tried a little harder to put its ridiculous tail away. the bit of skin on the tip of its snout suggests a recent shed, which would explain its uncharacteristically courageous behavior

Avec Christine, on a fêté nos 40 ans d'amitié en faisant en Octobre un voyage de 15 jours en Sicile. 

Une nouvelle excursion au départ de Palerme : le site archéologique de Sélinonte (Selinunte). Mais pour finir, un peu d'herpétologie : des lézards (sans doute des endémiques Podarcis siculus, à confirmer) et des tarentes, petits geckos méditerranéens.
