One of the things I see a lot of anti spaces is them all beinf overly focused on in "recovery" or "getting better" or "not making things worse". These are all in quotes because they don't actually push for these things, and generally push for lack of choice and mental conformity, even if they don't realize it.
Recovery is going to look different for everyone, and furthermore, when you try and push things like recovery, what you actually do is push a lot of people away from the idea. Now, no matter what they might say, I'm not anti recovery. I support those who want it, understand some just aren't ready for it, and some just outright might never want it. And most importantly, I believe in the freedom of choice in what someone does. Everyone should have full control over their mind, body and soul(unless they personally want to give that up for one reason or another.)
For example, I've seen a lot of argument about folks willingly making their dissociation worse. All arguments against this have only been "You're making it bad :( ", when they don't know that. There might be a reason someone wants hugger dissociative barriers or more headmates. Maybe they're in a situation that desperately requires more hands on deck. Maybe they need something compartmentalized asap. Or maybe someone just wants to.
Regardless of reasons, the only reason someone shouldn't do something is if it'd be extremely detrimental, and even then, its still their choice to make and they should be allowed to make it provided theyre fully aware of consequences and risks.
Another issue I've seen with this mentality is the infantilization of psychotic and schizospec folks. Weather this is pushback against pwPsychosis participating in willomancy or even just identifying as plural(I've seen this called outright "evil" before?), or CLCZs participating in the alterhuman community. Every time there's a massive outcry of "how could you do this to these poor people? Y-youre just making them sicker!!!" Or "Oh you poor, poor thing. I hope you get out of these dangerous spaces soon 🥺" or what have you. Not only do they immediately jump to thinking these people are just being taken advantage of, they also act like they have no autonomy to be participating in these things of their own free will. Which is really gross and treats differing states of mind as things that are inherently bad and can only be treated one way. ("Fixing" it.)
People of all states of mind should be allowed to make decisions for themselves, recovery isn't a one size fits all t-shirt, and ultimately ... if its someone's mind and body, it's their choice what to do with it, even if it's not in any recommended treatment plan or textbook healing guidelines or even if it's something you disagree with.
Worry about yourself and your own path. You'll always have others to walk it with you, but not everyone will walk it with you.
