(I'm not sure if it's meant to be the case or not. But it looks an awful lot like it's inspired by the celtic creature, the puca/pooka/pwca. Which I know some have argued is an inspiration for Robin Goodfellow/Puck).
And likes to curl up across Loki’s lap like a giant ominous cat. Loki’s a species shifting, shapeshifter himself, with a serpent, wolf and horse as offspring. He'd automatically embrace Puck's more animalistic/ less human appearance.
