The clock's ticking was getting on Eponine's nerves. She had opted to stay after her classes had ended to finish typing up the lines she had to learn. It was quarter to six and she still had mountains of paperwork to do. She placed her long fingers over her ears grumpily, cursing the fact that she had forgotten her headphones. She tried to ignore the incessant clock ticking, but it was getting louder and louder in her head. As the ticking got louder, she would type more aggressively and her hair would fall in front of her face a little more to hide the gradually growing scowl appearing. The small girl loathed the fact that this was in fact the college's library and that she couldn't make any noise- even though the librarian had gone home a half hour ago and there were only a few other students around. Even so, Eponine found it hard to concentrate on her work. It was that damn clock, ticking right above her head.
