My heart is so broken right now. The loss of an icon. The loss of an influencer and role model. The loss of a friend. Senseless deaths happening all around us, every single day. The stress and burden of life. My heart is so heavy 💔 While I know I need to stay positive, the reality of things is that I just want to curl up in my bed with a bottle of wine and forget about life for at least a day and a night. • • • You know why people don't reach out when they're at their lowest? It's because at some point in their life someone invalidated their feelings and told them it wasn't that bad. Someone told them to lighten up, relax, shake it off. Someone made them feel like their feelings of unworthiness or inadequacy was stupid and invalid. Perhaps even that their feelings weren't important. This is also why other people don't speak up .. because at some point in their lives, they were called liars when they spoke up about something happening. They were told the pain wasn't that bad when their heart had been crushed. They were told to walk it off when they fell to the ground. • • • We need to stop trying to immunize people against their feelings. It doesn't work that way. WE NEED TO FEEL AND WE NEED THOSE FEELINGS TO BE REAL. They are real. They're real to us. They don't have to be real to you. You don't have to agree. You just have to offer love and support. Be there. Listen. • • • Reach out to your friends when they start laying low, cancelling plans, and ignoring your messages and calls. Check up on your strong friends. The ones that are always there for everyone else... ya... those are the ones that likely need the most love and support right now. The empaths and creatives in your life... they take on the burdon of allllll that around them. It's heavy.
