I am sad to say I am having Bilbo x Bofur thoughts again
Bofur feeling shy about his teeth but Bilbo says he loves Bofur's smile- One day Bombur gives Bilbo a big hug and thanks him for giving the world back Bofur's grin, his TRUE grin and not some closed lipped smile he had before
Bofur who crafts silly tiny toy instruments for Bilbo to play shockingly well on. A little reed with only three holes, a tiny string instrument with only a single string, a wee drum made from scraps. Bilbo plays and Bofur dances for him until they both fall apart laughing.
Bilbo who falls in love with Bofur's voice, Bofur who reads to Bilbo when Bilbo's eyes become much too tired. Bilbo moans and complains when Bofur runs his hands through Bilbo's hair, knowing he'll fall asleep and miss the end of the chapter. Bofur doesn't stop and promises to re-read whatever Bilbo would like.
Bofur and Bilbo reading a book of scary stories after Ori found it in Erebor's library- they end up staying awake all night with the fireplace roaring, cuddled up like two scaredy cats.
Bilbo who fusses over Bofur, trying to feed him the hobbit way. Always running his hands through Bofur's hair, down his back, up his arms. Worrying about him not having enough water or getting too much sun, checking over his clothes for any holes. Kissing the little cuts Bofur gets on his fingers from work.
Bofur who finds it hard to compare with the elegant wordstyle of his love, who makes up for this perceived lacking by gifting crafts as often as he can. A carved wooden raven bookend with an emerald held in its beak, a second to match but with a ruby. Each surrounded by molded brass bouquets of flowers. Bilbo is astounded when Bofur shyly admits he mined the gems himself, learned how to work with brass, all for wanting all of this gift to be from him to Bilbo. Bilbo lovingly polishes the crafts frequently, admiring the detail with a loving eye.
Bofur who is ticklish, who's shoulders raise to his ears as Bilbo braids his hair for him. Bilbo, who deviously pretends not to be purposefully tracing the back of Bofur's neck with the very ends of his own braid!
Bofur and Bilbo who travel to the Shire to be wed in the middle of spring. Who spend the summer following wading into cool rivers and eating sun-ripe tomatoes and kissing each other goodnight under clear, starry night skies :)
