I can't fathom being so comfortable casually dismissing the contributions of an entire continent of over 1 billion people, plus millions of others across the globe

Even though Moonlit Throne takes place in Joseon Era Korea, is it okay if we imagine our OCs are people of different races/ethnicities other than Korean?
i purposefully wrote vaguely for MLT as i do in all of my fics, without any race/ethnicity markers, so you are absolutely free to imagine OC however you like!! it's your imagination & i support you 100%!
just as a historical note, i would like to acknowledge that this story would not be accurate if OC was anything other than a Korean woman. the reason for this is that there would be many more political complications if she were of another ethnicity or from another country altogether. as well, the scholarly literature i read for this series largely talked about femininity/customs that would concern native Korean women in Joseon.
however this is a fanfic so i want to recommend you to do anything that makes you feel most comfortable & happy while reading 💖 i just feel like i would be remiss not to acknowledge that i am writing from that perspective and with those contexts in mind, because i wanted to create a somewhat faithful representation of life in the Joseon era.
