Here’s my issue: a lot of people have a hive mentality. They follow the popular opinion and whomever does not agree with them is ostracized. What ever happened to being able to have an open and honest discussion without the name calling, shaming and many times violence.
People are so quick to judge without having all the facts; no one is allowed to have a difference of opinion. I have been called naive for believing that we can have different beliefs and not be enemies. I want people around me that we can have open and honest conversations about different subject and world issues. I want to be able to talk to you about issues today, our history, etc.
Unfortunately, today we live in a world that if you don’t believe what the majority believes, you are considered stupid or ignorant, or even racist. Don’t get me wrong: HATE IS HATE! HATE IS WRONG!
PLEASE!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Be informed. Know  your history - both the good and the bad. Don’t just read one newspaper, read them all. I love the internet and social media, but not everything there is the truth. People can say whatever they want online, and some take is as truth.Â

I don’t know if anyone’s aware or not but Tilikum, the beautiful male orca that’s been held in captivity by SeaWorld for 33 years, is currently extremely I’ll and dying. SeaWorld has stated that most orcas live to be about 30, this is true for orcas held in captivity, most of which fall ill and die before that, but this is false for wild orcas. in the wild, orca whales can live up to 100 years old. SeaWorld has put Tilikum, and all their other orcas, through torture for years. even after losing two people to Tilikum they still refused to shut down their park or even release Tilikum into the wild. now Tilikum is dying alone in captivity due to poor care. Tilikum does not deserve this and neither does any other orca being held by SeaWorld and parks like SeaWorld. action needs to be taken to get SeaWorld shut down for it’s animal abuse. please inform everyone you know to boycott SeaWorld and request they be shut down. it breaks my heart knowing such beautiful creatures are being forced into this life. #DontBuyATicket

today was unbelievably rough and surreal... between saying goodbye for the last time, watching the coffin being closed, the church service, and everyone's pain felt from the loss. i just wish more people knew what drugs could do to you and how easy it is to get hooked before they started. you believe that it could never happen to you or someone in your family, but the reality of the truth is is that it can, it's more likely to come crashing down to a terribly harsh reality if you're not informed. something needs to be done before so many more families are hurt by the affects of heroin use

I’m really sad about the lack of coverage on what’s going on in Egypt today. Today is the day MILLIONS of people took to the streets to stand for their freedom! This is bigger than the revolution in 2011 and yet the news shows nothing. President Morsi needs to go!! Solidarity protests are going on across the US, and I had the privilege to be a part of one! Keep Egypt in your thoughts!
