She crawled through one of the tunnels of the Kindergarden, hair sweeping behind her as Rhodonite’s gaze flickered back; focusing on the ( now pink ) human. 

“You doing ok back there ? ” She carefully called back, keeping her voice low. The off colors had temporarily seperated so that if anyone was following them, they’d get confused. The tunnels met up near the end if you knew the way. Rhodonite had been paired with Lars when the groups were split up.

Rhodonite turned, offering her hand to help the human from the tunnel; giving him a rather... nervous smile, weak and practically wavering on the spot.

Sadie is tired. And cranky. And she is sweeping as Lars locks the door, ensuring that there will be no more donuts sold tonight. The tension eases, an easy relaxation from the expectation of doting on others and he says something about--something, she's not quite listening--and with little thought put into her response, she shrugs and offers a semi-committal hum.

She stops when he turns to her, her petite frame frozen in anxiety ridden expectation for him to elaborate. But he doesn't. Instead he stares at her and she stares back, fingers curled tightly around the wearing plastic of the broom handle as she tries to remember what he had been talking about. Of course she doesn't know, the knowledge isn't there, and finally she sighs. In and out to ease her tension before she offers him an apologetic smile.

“A rather grim outlook you have there, friend.” 

The nun sat on the edge of the towering cliff-face with Lars, gazing out into the seemingly endless drop below them. It had been a few days since she had arrived back on Homeworld via the portal in his hair, though this far beneath the surface it was often hard to tell day from night. 

It felt odd at first, being back ‘home’. Even if she was still in hiding, it felt, well, not nice but alright to be back where she started. And the Off Colors were happy to meet her. Lars, on the other hand... Lars was still a bit of a mystery to her, having not spent enough time in Beach City to know many of Steven’s friends. But from what she was told, he made a very valiant sacrifice so that her friend could make it home.

And that, quite frankly, made him a good person in her eyes. A bit gloomy sometimes but understandable given the circumstances.

     Lars had been... quiet, since Steven had left. 

    The Off-Colors had formulated a plan for escape, and Fluorite, having known the tunnels better than any of them, took the lead, followed by Rhodonite and Padparadscha --- then, in the rear, Lars and Rutile. They were all a little quiet now, the twins glanced at one another, concerned, before they both looked towards the pink-hued human, speaking softly. 

      “Lars?” Rutile on the right inquired, concerned. “Is everything okay?”

Garnet had warned that coming bursting out of Lars’ head with little warning and shouting his name at ‘Full Blast’ wasn’t necessarily... a good idea, but she didn’t specifically say that it was a bad idea either! Tumbling out of the super stylized poof of hair, the fusion skidded across the hard homeworld ground.

  A few seconds to check and make sure everything was where it was meant to be. Hair. Shorts. Special package from Sadie. All good! But where was- Quick glance over their shoulder, toward- “LARS!”

Swift sprint into a full-bodied bear hug for their friend. They missed him- All of EARTH missed him so much. “How are you? Are you okay?? Are the Off-Colors okay? Sadie misses you, she sent me with this box! I told her there’s no power on Homeworld so you wouldn’t be able to charge this 3DS, but she insisted. Are you still not hungry, cause OH MAN, I took over your job at Big Donut and YOU HAVE TO TRY THESE NEW CHOCOLATE FROSTING DONUT FRIES!” 

They haven’t let go of him yet. There’s not even an inch of awkward on the ‘Connie’ side of things. There’s just- They just missed him so.

It was the way he said it, almost as if he was scared of her answer. So vulnerable as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and cast his gaze to the side. She smiled, reaching to touch his elbow and dipping into his line of sight; all but forcing him to look at her.

"Of course I do." How could she possibly have given him any other answer? How could she possibly have lied to him when he'd asked her in such a straight forward manner?
