Purple oxalis. Sunlit, these deep purple leaves glow bright red - a sharp contrast to the soft browns of the winter garden this time of year. Our house is warm and full of blazing sunlight on these shortest (almost) days of the year. And the calm stillness inside our cozy home makes opening the door to the howling wind outside quite shocking. Butterfly Amaryllis. Glad this one decided to show its pretty face again. These aren't the most reliable bloomers. But unlike the typical amaryllis they don't need a dormancy to entice them to put on a show.
