Okay so here I am to preach on again about the importance of getting your vitamins. My 96 year old Grandmother used to say when asked, "What is the secret to living well into your 90's?" She would always give daily vitamins the credit. So this one is a big one to pay attention to -- Iron. How much is too much? How much is too little? Let's answer that question.
Women and men both need around 10 mg a day. Now most of the time if you eat a normal diet then you are getting enough and no need to add. Plus too much iron is definitely bad for your liver. But there are a few reasons that you might be iron deficient. Vegetarians or Vegans SOMETIMES need a little iron boost. Iron is naturally found in high enough doses in veggies like spinach, but that doesn't mean all non meat eaters get enough. A good way to find out is to try a small dose of plant iron to see if it boosts energy. However, another important iron deficient cause is certain medications deplete your body from iron absorption. Antacids are a common one. Â I must warn you again that if you over take most vitamins the excess will just come out in your urine, but too much iron can cause problems. I have found this great liquid plant iron. Since I have started taking it, along with sublingual B12, I have noticed a serious energy boost in my every day spark. This liquid plant iron doesn't exactly taste great, but like I have said before, don't be a wuss. Suck it up and get healthy! The MyKind brand rocks!
