But y'all are sleeping on the concept of Emelie x Placide (Gorilla is not a name, thats a nickname). While Gabriel and Nathalie were busy travelling and looking for ways to heal Emelie, Placide was there for her and little Adrien.
It can be called helping only for so long until both of them start to think of a future together, or a different past if they got together with eachother.
Placide is a good man, kind, caring. It was him who was playing with Adrien while Emelie was busy with work in her husbands absence. It was him who was carrying the sleeping kid after they watched a movie together at the insistence of Adrien.
It was Placide who helped her with absolutely every and anything. He was the one who took her to doctors when she felt worse, it was him who was taking care of Adrien.
With Gabriel being more and more obsessed with looking for a cure than spending what little time he has left with her, I wouldn't put it past her to think if ahe made the right choice by marrying him. While Gabriel was good boyfriend material (in her eyes only, I bet ine of the reasons she went for him was to spite her parents) whereas Placide showed that he's absolute husband and father material.
With this I'm actually surprised why Adrien leaned more on Nathalie as a parent figure rather than Placide. I like a concept of good parent Nathalie in contrast to bad parent Gabriel, but now I'm yearning for Placide to just take this sweet boy away from all this and show him what proper parental love looks like.
