Ahhhhhhh yes, sigh... the WIPs dilemma...

Yeah, I’m working on “What Are the Odds?” Part 3, but honestly, I’ve had it sitting there since I drew the first post of Eric… hehe. I have half the pages done btw!! But with this AU, so many ideas keep popping into my head that I want to develop, and it’s really pulling me in and it’s way less work to make those quick comics, and this is more fun and interesting…

Well you see... Eric, my boy, is a great boy.

He sticks close to his mom at all times in case she wants to lean on something or feels weak. He likes to think of himself as her strong and capable bodyguard, whereas I like to compare him to a service pup (you know, parallels with the dog miraculous).

He’s a 10 out of 10 kid. THE PROBLEM is when he teams up with his sidekick and buddy Adrien

So here's the thing... To sum it up. With each passing day, her heart grows a thousandth of a percent more capable of going into a wild frenzy.

But how dangerous is it? Think of it like a battery. Her heart functions perfectly up to a certain point. But the closer it gets to being completely drained, the more dangerous it becomes to use. This cycle is repeated daily.

So, the illness does not slowly destroy the organ in this AU, but it increases the chances of a sudden, complete failure. In short, a cardiac arrest.

The good news is that Nathalie, having a background in military discipline, knows how to control her pulse and breathing, as well as how to live under pressure without letting it affect her body negatively.

The problem? This DUMB IDIOT loves to put into practice ANYTHING that puts her life at risk. Like not sleeping, living on nothing but coffee, and dealing with whatever bullsh*t the Agrestes come up with on a daily basis, etc etc...

Nathalie could get to live much longer than Emilie did!! or she could simply die tomorrow... That’s up to her.

Oh, I almost forgot... what if I told you that Colt didn’t get sick from the Miraculous in this AU?

This is the first time Emilie realizes that something strange is happening to Nathalie. Something Nat isn't going to tell her about.

This happened on one of the camping trips they took every now and then. Usually, Nat uses these trips with Eric to get some fresh air and relieve pressure. But by inviting Emilie, Gabriel and Adrien, she ends up exerting herself more than she should and overworks her heart.

Once home, she says she’ll go to the hospital, but we know it’s all lies so as not to scare the Agrestes.

And what about Eric? Since she and Eric live together (and no, they don’t live with the Agrestes), he’s more observant than he seems, he already knows she’s having problems. He just plays dumb and does everything he can to keep his mom from stressing. All quietly, of course. Because if he offered to help her, she’d just say no. So, he just runs easy errands for her, brings her herbal teas (hides the DAMN coffee) and, obviously, handles his own homework.

Oh you know it!! I couldn't have put it better myself, speaking of which...... I'm cooking something right now, something that might be related to it.

Ohhhh boy hahaha. I'm going to answer these questions here, so I don't have to say the same thing many times :)

Let’s see, how do I explain this without making a fricking long*ss comic.… let’s start at the beginning:

Gabriel knows that Nathalie likes Emilie...I mean, who doesn’t? Who in their right mind doesn’t like Emilie? Thing is, it changed when Emilie returned that affection. Okay, look, he’s not going to deny his Emilie the chance to love. It’s fine… plus, Nathalie is a good friend of his too...it’s a win-win. He’s still the favorite between the two of them anyway; Emilie is his wife and he’s the father of their son, so he’s got the upper hand.

Welp, suddenly, five years after living without fear that this woman would steal his wife, Nathalie shows up with a kid. Good for her. He didn’t see that coming.

Sure. The boy is very well-mannered, energetic but cautious at the same time. Very clever also. One day he saw him writing down his school schedule all by himself, isn't that great? Just like his mother. That's awesome.

Wait, what? You mean the boy is magical? That he has a curious blond lock of hair and a green sparkle in his eyes? Huh......Oh, okay...?

His name is Eric, right? All right. He’s a good kid, but he’s not Adrien. Adrien is WAY more important because he’s THEIR son. Anyway, the thing is that now Eric spends a lot more time at the mansion... understandable, since Nathalie works here almost all day; she needs to have the kid around.

Adrien– why do you call him “brother”? And why does Emilie talk about him as if he were her second child??? Okay, Gabriel just found out that the boy is 90% Nathalie and 10% Emilie.....

Maybe he doesn’t have as much of an upper hand as he thought he did over Nathalie... okay... Okay... shit... well, Emilie and he are SOULMATES; Made for Each Other! He's the love of her life. Yes, yeah–

So why the HELL does the love of his life spend more time with Nathalie than with him?! HUH?! He’s not jealous. He’s just being objective. He’s not worried. Nope. Not at all. Not at all is he watching HIS Emilie bat her eyelashes and devour Nathalie with her eyes while she explains a simple history assignment to Adrien and Eric.

What does she have now that he doesn’t? Is it time, attention, gifts? What does he have to DO to get her to look at him like tha–

it’s the kids.......... Emilie likes them to interact with the kids..... that’s what Nathalie just told him. She also denied any intention of stealing his wife...... and his son too, I suppose. That she plans things for Eric and ONLY Eric; it’s Adrien and Emilie who include themselves in those same plans.

So..... turns out that now, Gabriel and Nathalie (just Gabriel) are fighting (not really) a DUEL, as rivals to see who makes the better partner. She isn’t even competing, AND SHE’S ALREADY BEATING HIM BY A MILE!! goddamn it. STEP UP YOUR GAME, GABRIEL!!!

THAT'S IT. GABRIEL AGRESTE IS GOING TO SHOW WHAT HE’S MADE OF. NO ONE TAKES HIS EMILIE AWAY FROM HIM, and the blond kid too i guess...... NO ONE. SO IF HE HAS TO MAKE A FOOL OF HIMSELF, MESS UP THE HOUSE, OR DO WHATEVER... IS SUPPOSED TO be done... to take care of a... child... HE’LL DO IT.

IT’LL BE A BRUTAL (but friendly) BATTLE AGAINST HIS FRIEND AND NOW RIVAL. May the best partner (dad) WIN!!!

Proceeds to steal Adrien (and Eric too), bribe them to act happy in front of Emilie and tell her how much fun they had with him after accompanying him to an executive meeting, which, btw, definitely DIDN'T last two hours.... Well, at least in this AU, he sort of tries....

Heeellllo, and thank you very much!!!, my esteemed friend. Ah... I see. Yes! what an interesting choice... I can discern a slight hint of yuri in the shape and color. A wise pick, may I add.

Eric was born from the beating of a longing heart. Kind of metaphorically and literally.

Nathalie let herself be carried away by intrusive thoughts, and in a fit of curiosity, stealthily, she took the peacock’s miraculous. Hundreds of “what ifs” ran through her mind. The vast majority revolved around Emilie and what it would be like if she were in Gabriel’s place. Well... one of those scenarios kept replaying in her head. What would it be like if she had a child with her? Would they look more like Adrien (who had just been born) or maybe more like herself?

And before she could stop it, with no experience using the miraculous, it happened. The amok took hold in the moon above her heart, and at the same time, she felt as if a thick, painful needle were piercing her chest, leaving her unable to breathe.

She thought about the mistake she had made, the biggest problem? The solution Duusu gave her was to destroy the amok’s vessel, that is, her necklace. Nathalie refused, and well, the rest is history. Grin and bear it, as she would say herself👍🏻

Nathalie, and who’s the mother? Also Nathalie. Single dad-mom until the child turns 5. After that, he has two mothers, a Gabriel, and a brother.

I like to think that Nathalie would be better suited to the role of a father than a mother, like, she’s there for you, supports you, and teaches you, but she isn’t particularly affectionate (Eric doesn't mind, he's not very affectionate either) but, she does value independence and hard work.

I think he’d be a great holder of the dog miraculous. Specifically, a german shepherd. Alert and loyal, playful and full of energy, yet capable of maintaining discipline and control making him the most mentally stable of the three (Eric, Celine, and Adrien). Plus, he has excellent aim after training with Nathalie during his childhood. He’s perfectly suited to be a support hero rather than a frontline fighter.

Honestly, I think it would be Emilie who would passively aggressively persuade Nathalie to get pregnant. And she’d probably get away with it. They’d raise the kid together and all that stuff.

But it’s also funny to think in the idea that, one day Nathalie secretly used the peacock miraculous and somehow (perhaps by mistake) got herself pregnant. She didn’t tell anyone. No one even suspected it. After years, she just showed up with a grown up kid.

But how can he not be? With Nathalie (and Emilie) as his mama, my boy is just condemned to be handsome.

This is Eric!! Nathalie created him with the intention of making a tiny male version of herself, but during the creation process, she accidentally (accidental my *ss) let some intrusive thoughts slip in, and the boy ended up with some blond streaks and blue eyes with small hints of green. NOT on purpose, not at all, no one she knows could possibly have those features...

All jokes aside, he was always meant to be an Eminath baby, which would complete my version of the messy Sangreste children trilogy, the holy trinity, Adrien, Celine, and Eric. From oldest to youngest btw.

Still, I have no idea how he would fit into an AU, I haven't written anything in particular.
