This time of year is a little bit odd for me & @spencersarc.daddy ⁣ 3 years ago I was in hospital with a ticking time bomb. Also known As the little twins & an invasive placenta. (#placentaaccreta have a look in my highlight reel or blog for my birth story if you are new around here.) ⁣ So for the past two years we have gone on an adventure for the little twins birthday to try and replace the trauma with happy memories. ⁣ The first year was Disney last year was our amazing Cornwall roadtrip. ⁣ This year however we have no where booked. No party no adventure nothing. ⁣ I’ve looked at maybe going for a weekend trip somewhere but it’s bank holiday and with the virus still out there threatening I’m not sure I want to head out. ⁣ I think whatever we end up doing it’s going to be one to remember. It’s the last weekend before school starts up again. Day 11 - @girlabout.travel - #sharingamazingmemories ⁣ ⁣ *Out of my comfort Zone.*⁣ ⁣ It’s no surprise that today’s post is the speaking at the blogging event back in November last year. ⁣ Last November seems like forever ago now. ⁣ When I went through my last twins birth and came out the other side of the recovery (if your new and have no idea what I’m taking about head to my blog to find out) I vowed to step out of my comfort zone more and embrace life and every opportunity gave me. ⁣ I sort of fell on the public speaking path after offering my services talking about Instagram to a bunch of WI women on a WI camp from there I progressed in to chatting about my mental heath my birth trauma and how blogging has gotten me through some tough times. Then I offered myself to speak at this @mavenconnex event. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not sure which direction it will take me next but I know the life I’ve already been through, the trauma I’ve had, have been for a reason. Two years ago I was in hospital with suspected labour pains. Luckily it wasn’t labour as if it had of been I wouldn’t be here to tell my story. ⁣ This time two years ago I didn’t know just what was about to happen. ⁣ A few days after this photo I was diagnosed with #placentapercreta ⁣ The life threatening pregnancy complication still isn’t talked about enough. ⁣ Even some midwives have never heard of it. I don’t have time for daytime tv however I was alerted to a story yesterday and I am shocked appalled and angry at @thismorning for running a story on a women who faked depression to get a nose job. There is a NHS crisis, people dying waiting for life saving procedures. People taking their own lives as they can’t access mental health care due to cuts. And this woman fraudulently got a nose job. There are so many more stories This morning could have run. When I almost lost my life due to #placentapercreta the NHS saved me. I alone cost them in the region of £10000 not a figure I’m proud of. In fact I fee so guilty I fundraise to try and give a little back. My condition and that of another 1 in 272 women is barely heard of even by some midwives and sonographers. Yet it’s on the rise due to more and more procedures that cause uterine scaring. Why not run a story about that THIS MORNING? Did you know in April @hfa.ukchapter run a 30 day challenge over on their Facebook page. To raise awareness of the rare pregnancy condition. Placenta accreta, increta, percreta. This is me. A week after surgery after having my babies. At the time I didn’t think about future implications. I just hoped that I got through the surgery. Now I’m going through the menopause. Who knew at 38 I’d be feeling like an old lady.
