unfortunately just another example of picrews not having diverse enough options lol!! There were only 3 skin tone options but in “reality” Alec’s is more in between Vienna’s and Zander’s, so I made Alec’s hair lighter to blend better with the paler skin.

Would Eldwin ever visit a church and ask forgiveness to the goddess? (I don't know if you would listen to a warlock prayer) What is his relationship with the religion before and after making the deal?

Eldwin's relationship with religion is fun and something I'm looking forward to exploring. Most of Aenora is religious, I mean no one can deny the gods exist (well, some people do; they're treated as flat-earth conspiracy theorists) and Eldwin grew up in a rural village that particularly clung to religion and tradition. He had the same beliefs everyone else did, worshipped the gods as everyone else did. He took it pretty seriously! There may have been a part of him desperate to prove himself as 'good' as he was treated badly by the other villagers for being part fae/a suspected changeling, and generally "weird" (read: neurodivergent) and his fascination with death and everything related did not help. But he also was fascinated with magic, and wanted to learn all kinds, including healing with requires a connection with the divine. So he took all the prayers and rituals very seriously.

He knew he was throwing that away when he made the pact. Directly afterwards, living on the streets, he didn't have time to feel bad about it, he was too busy trying to survive to call on the gods he knew he'd severed any relationship with. But there was a time early syndicate, particularly after he first killed someone, where he broke down and tried to talk to the gods - Naereth was his main deity, but he was desperate, no rituals, just him begging to any deity who would listen. Apologising for all he's done, begging for forgiveness, begging for death.

He has not been in a church since - at least not willingly, I might get up to some shenanigans, though probably not canon and more just for fun. Anyway, he gets unexplainably anxious going into a church or temple, this intense sense of wrongness, like he just shouldn't be there.

He looks down on the gods, and those who blindly worship them, because he's bitter. He claims he doesn't need them, but he misses it. He misses feeling like someone was always there, that security in the belief that if he had nothing else, at least the gods would be there. Many people reach the same realisation, but none quite so fully and drastically as Eldwin.

“Okay.” She was speeding a little. “Okay. We can… we can find somewhere to drop Kaius and Harbor. Benji can stay with them. Jer, maybe you and I can get the jump on Vic.”

She could tell he was thinking about it. Silence in the backseat.

“Do you think we can?”

“He blindsided us this morning. He's not expecting us to come back. If we can take him by surprise—”

“Bullshit,” Harbor mumbled. “You just wanna go in alone?”

“You can barely stand.”

“I'll be fine.”

“I have a gun.”

“Y’gonna use it?”

Joy clenched her jaw. Yes. She could shoot Vic. What other choice was there? “We'll figure it out.”

“Like you did with the bomb.”

“Exactly.”

“Thought you didn't disarm it.”
