Hello! If youâre still doing ficlet prompts, how about this for kimallura? âYou know what it meantâ
Alluraâs voice cracked on the last word as she looked down at the ruined painting in her hands.Â
Kima walked up behind her, making sure to leave a few feet of distance between them. âI know Allie and Iâm so sorry. I was just so angry, I wasnât thinking straightâŚâÂ
âYou canât keep doing this Kima.â Her tone was harsh.Â
Kima bristled, already frustrated and tired from the preparation for the impending battle against Vecna and his followers. âI donât know what you want from me Allie. Iâve spent every waking hour doing everything youâve asked of me; working my fingers to the bone so that we may have the slightest chance of surviving this. Iâm sorry I got overwhelmed and threw my sword, but what else am I supposed to do in a time like this? We could lose everything in just a few days, or gods, hours maybe.â Kima ground out.Â
Alluraâs harsh expression fell and was replaced with the tired gaunt one that she had been wearing since she had returned with the new information about the ziggurat. She dropped the painting next to her and bent over to pull Kima into a hug. Kima stiffened momentarily, Alluraâs reaction catching her off guard, before she brought her arms up and held her wife tightly. She could feel Allura shaking slightly in her grasp and it didnât take long before she felt drops of what she could only assume were tears landing on the top of her head.Â
âIâm sorry.â Came Alluraâs voice, strained from crying. âThe painting can be dealt with another time, or not at all. I shouldnât have snapped at you. These last few days have just beenâŚâÂ
âItâs okay Allie. I know.âÂ
Kima pulled back and wiped a few tears from Alluraâs cheek. âCome on, letâs go to bed. We wonât be able to make any more progress tonight anyway.Â
Allura nodded and held out her hand for Kimaâs. Peaceful sleep was rare those days, but with the two of them clutching each other tight, it was the best sleep theyâd had in weeks.Â
