Like, i know my dislike for season 3 is very apparent, but this is just another fuck up on top of everything else. Godric *felt* ancient. He felt like the end of an era. A representative of a bygone time with thousands of years under his belt. Russel is a cartoon villain. There's no gravitas to any of his scenes vs Godric, who made it feel like the world was silent for his presence. Imo it also takes all the air out of Godric's mini arc for Russel to be older. Here Godric is struggling philosophically and searching for the meaning of life and Russel is just There. Totally unaffected by his age and experiences. No different from any other vampire side characters. Just there to stir up shit for drama and that's it.
So disappointing.
(Also, how did Godric just immediately disintigrate and Russel not???)

Little update
Hey guys, I'm very sorry I've been awfully silent around here lately. I've been struggling with anxiety and depression, being back probably because of my unemployment. I also felt like I needed a creative break after finishing Fantasies in the Dark. Don't get me wrong, I am beyond grateful for the attention this series received, and I will always be! 🫶 But I felt way too tied to it and pressured myself to finish it and for it to be good enough (that's totally my stupid ass's fault), and I felt drained creatively speaking afterward.
So yeah, I'm trying to come back slowly, it feels a bit weird reblogging again and posting again after a long time, a bit like trying to play your old guitar that's been sitting all dusty in the corner of your room 👀 getting my spark back is a daily battle I guess.
