I literally just realized that dumpy tree frogs are the same as White's tree frogs. I love those guys! I hope he's settling into his new home
i love that they originally got the name of the dude who discovered them and he was probably all proud but down the line people were like wow....Dumpy instead
So I just set up my hermit crabs ~2 months ago. I have them in a 29-gallon but got a 40 breeder Critter Cage on sale. With 5 crabs, do you think I'll have many chances where they're all above ground? Basically wondering if I should upgrade while I have the chance or if it can wait. I feel like it may be unnecessary stress when they've just settled in.
It’s kind of a toss up, tbh. 5 seems like it’s getting close to the “THERE’S ALWAYS ONE” likelihood, but you may get lucky, especially if they’re close to each other in molt cycles. But if they’re all up right now, personally I’d go ahead & move them, tbh. I don’t think the stress now vs. later will make a huge difference. I know all of mine disappeared to destress & took time to get used to the 150g after moving them, even though most of them had been around for longer than 2 months & were fairly settled.
So I've always wanted to try RPG, but it seems like so much to learn. Would the thing you just posted be a good way to jump in?
Oh absolutely! It’s a learning experience for me too, so there isn’t any pressure to come in knowing it all. I’m also making a step-by-step battle guide so everyone knows the rules and has a reference sheet to look at while we play <3

Hey, I just wanted to say I love that you post so much about your hermit crabs' diet. It's been super helpful to me as a new crab owner.
Oh good!! :D I’m so glad that the posts have been helpful. I really do love talking about animal food & they have the most fun diet out of all of my critters currently!
pimpinchilton replied to your post “yo i gooogled “fish are so great they are so cooll” aned i came across...”

pimpinchilton replied to your post “i crashed SO hard this weekend omfg…..being out of school for 5 years...”
You'll get used to it again. Did you jump back in full-time?
i did!! i don’t wanna drag things out longer than i have to, and as a full time student i’ll graduate in about a year. it’s difficult to fully process the idea that i’m a student now and not at work tho, i never really thought i’d have that label again. it’s so different from being full-time somewhere as an employee, like i didn’t realize 7 hr school days would exhaust me more than 9 hrs per day of physical labor in the hospital dish room!!! what’s up w that!!
