Just me... always unintentionally making some minor character unbearably poignant in every new bit I write.
First it was Renaud.
Next came Roget.
This story, it's Eleni's turn...
Monsieur Pierre Roget
Me: “Hmm.. you look just like the paintings behind you. Is that you?”
PR: “Non. That’s my father and grandfather, who passed down the family business to me.”
Me: *getting a closer look* “but you have the same mole and cut in the exact same spot?”
PR: “That’s because…” *shoots me in the chest* “Maître, I need help cleaning up a murder scene… again.”
My exploration of Lestat post-Akasha pre-body thief is now completed. I think I managed to go along the show and book canon, bringing forward a book character or two while trying to not mess with what might go on S3.
I had fun with this!

Also the companion fic is my Lestat's lawyer, Roget-centric fic.

Ed Birch (Roget jr jr) has the portraits of his vamp attorey ancestors at home now, btw
Lestat likes a lawyer who can honk shoo mimimi
I’ve done the letter scene before, but this pre-letter scene, I have not. Â
Oh, Louis’ fragility here…. His fear…. How held-in he is…
Also, I wrote Roget in a fic, and he turned into this surprisingly empathetic person in a way where now I find Roget strangely moving to think about.
It's rubbish. You're welcome. I can't get the speech loud enough, either. But oh well. It is.
