Have you ever played “Pictionary”?
A few weeks ago, my art group, Eddisbury Artists, did something similar!
Tricia Potter led an imaginative session, which felt a little like artists' "Pictionary", except that we had more than one minute to sketch and no one had to guess what we'd tried to depict. It took more than a minute to hear the clues and, after we’d finished painting or drawing, we got to compare our rendition of Tricia's description to the actual painting she was talking about. You can see how I got on over the two-hour session, below.
It was actually great fun, as well as being an interesting way of developing the skills of visualising something and painting from that work of the imagination, rather than from something in front of us or from a photo.Â
Whatever family games you’re playing over the festive season, I hope you have a great time!
