It's a burger experience you won't forget.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 pounds ground beef. Salt and black pepper to taste. 4 slices cheddar cheese. 4 hamburger buns. 1 cup shredded cabbage. 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 1 tablespoon sugar. 1/2 cup mayonnaise. 1/4 cup ketchup. 1/4 cup pickled jalapeno slices. 1 cup vegetable oil for frying. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 2 shallots, thinly sliced. Lettuce leaves optional, for garnish. Tomato slices optional, for garnish. Pickle slices optional, for garnish.
Instructions: Warm up the grill over medium-high heat. While the grill is getting hot, make 8 equal portions of the ground beef. Put black pepper and salt on each piece. Make four thin patties out of the portions. Put a slice of cheddar cheese in the middle of each patty and then put another patty on top of it. The edges should be sealed to make 4 stuffed burger patties. Shred the cabbage and thinly slice the red onion and put them in a bowl. Put the sugar and apple cider vinegar in a different bowl and mix them together until the sugar is gone. Put this on top of the onion and cabbage. Mix it up, then set it aside for at least 15 minutes to pickle. Mix the mayonnaise and ketchup in a small bowl with a whisk to make a unique sauce. Add the pickled jalapeo slices and mix well. Use medium-high heat to warm the vegetable oil in a pan until it's hot but not smoking. Toss the sliced shallots in the all-purpose flour and shake off any extra. Carefully fry the shallots in the hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy. With a slotted spoon, take them out and put them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain. The stuffed burger patties should be cooked on the grill for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are done the way you like them. Toast the buns on the grill until they are lightly browned while the burgers are cooking. Spread a lot of the special sauce on the bottom half of each bun before putting the burgers together. You can put a stuffed burger patty, pickled slaw, and crispy fried shallots on top. You can add lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and pickle slices if you want to. Put the top half of the bun on top of each burger, and serve them hot.
