Over the last number of weeks i have been researching several topics that i have great interest in. I have been generating ideas and evaluating potential research subjects.

The top 3 subjects i have narrowed down my research too are psychedelics, flight or fight responses and the aurora borealis.

For each subject i have thought of potential questions that i would like to focus my studies on.

Aurora borealis - The colours and the occurrence, what is making this happen?

Things i find really interesting about this subject is that it is such a fascinating natural phenomenon that proves the fact that the origins of art come from natural elements. a main focus of this could be how does this integrate with everyday life, fashion, digital design. can it be recreated by humans? to get more information on this subject i will need to watch a lot of documentaries and science articles/expeditions. I am also going on a trip to Iceland in march therefore this could be a perfect topic for me to study as i might be able to see the aurora borealis in real life.

Fight or flight response -  What is the physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event?

Areas of this subject that i find most interesting is what type of events cause what reactions, for example a mother being able to lift a car to save a young child? the ability to perform super human feats in a time of need. I could also focus some research on the difference between humans and animals. do all species have this response?

Psychedelics - How the use of psychedelic drugs effect the creation of art? 

Areas of this subject that i could focus my study's on may be how does different drugs effect different people and people of different artistic abilities. i would also be interested in conducting a study of how these drugs effect peoples ability to create art, who have similar artistic abilities. can it enhance or decrease their capability? Another area i would be interested in is the use of art to cure drug addiction. or artists that are drug addicts and is there similarities in their work.
