#PWPoePrompts Day 2: Life-Changing Books I firmly believe in passing books on so I rarely have more than three shelves of books at any one time. However, I do hang on to my absolute favorites. Two of the three fiction books that changed my life, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz and Winter of Magic’s Return by Pamela F. Service, are pictured here. The third book, that I’ve loaned out, is Tales for the Midnight Hour by J.B. Stamper. Scary Stories and Tales showed me that I could get paid to write down and share all of the creepy stories I made up about the world around me. Winter of Magic’s Return married my love of history (even though it’s set in the future!) with magic and the occult. I’ve read many books in the ensuing years, but most have been extensions of the themes and concepts from these three tomes. #pitchwars #phillywriters #philly #amwriting #books (at Upper North Philadelphia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0rvo7Agdgc/?igshid=orxdpbuu5ygg
