So subtle (Or perhaps not so subtle) were his efforts to at least emulate the ways of affection that humans displayed. Whilst he understood them better than any other, actually performing such things was an entirely different beast. Still, Philemon tries, in the form of a flurry of butterflies that descended upon Naoto and circled her at his behest from the border where he existed.
Calculate, counter, dispute.
There was not one single part of her that held an ounce of regret for her workload, in fact, it suited her. There were only moments where she had learnt to take a break, to allow her mind a moment to recuperate and return to its optimal condition. Constant use over extended periods of time would only lead to well-intentioned mistakes. It had been during this break that something so familiar, so welcomed, occurred when she least expected it.
The cool night air had brought with it an encounter she had, internally, begun to miss. Their decent had taken her by surprise, and it took a moment for her composure to return, but once she caught sight of the brilliant blue⌠it had become difficult not to relax. Not to drop her guard and allow the current situation to stir her emotions.Â
âWhat faithful creatures.â Her voice was but a whisper as their wings fluttered all about her person in such a way that she would, should she see him tonight, ask if a certain deity knew the term butterfly kisses. Without wasting a single movement Naoto lifted her hand up, seeking the touch of any one of them. Were they regular butterflies she doubted they would come this close, let alone stay close once she began to move, but these were his. Surely they would stay by her side until the both of them felt satisfied by this impromptu meeting.
âShall I meet with you again? I often ponder this.â Gently she gazed at the butterflies, her eyes giving whatever few would perch upon her outstretched hand a far more tender look. âContinue on, you have much to oversee. Many future guests to test.â Slowly she brought one butterfly to her face, her eyes closing now as she spoke one last time, âYou are in my thoughts... and my heart, always.â
