DJ Flame was most definitely awake during the love triangle dream. We hear him talking on the radio almost immediately after Fionna, HW and Cake wake up. This was deffo Hunter's nightmare or something.

I really like this scene. It’s both good to know that during this lowest moment, Fionna can at least confide in the other dude who seriously fucked up his relationships during ‘Boys Night’.

And it’s good to have a moment that kinda humanizes Phelix as more than just a philandering asshole. We’ve seen so little of his inner world, it was hard to know what to think of him for most of the Season… it might have been easy to just judge him purely by the mostly-negative impact he has on other characters’ emotional arcs, but...

I think it’s thematically important to have this little moment to remind us that he’s not that different from Fionna at the end of the day, just his own brand of emotionally-messed-up human being who makes mistakes.

Fionna DID fuck up by kissing Phelix, but I also think about Phelix 1. hugging Fionna, and 2. going, "I've been trying to keep it professional, but...". And then Fionna kissed him specifically after he noticed she was shaking, after her being reminded of Ice Prince dying. Though, Phelix wouldn't know about the IP thing.

Phelix was ALSO making things worse.
