Phase 90 on Fuzzdog board. Wanted to build one of these for ages and despite having made a couple of other more complex phasers (Lovetone Doppelgänger) I’ve found myself wanting something simpler. It’s such a classic phaser sound and nice and minimal so just what I was after and takes up less space on my board!
Decided to give Tayda’s UV enclosure printing service a go and I am really impressed with the results I have to say! For the price and how quickly they turn it around plus no minimum order it’s really pretty amazing! The artwork required a bit more effort when compared to etching but it was totally worth it IMO!
Found a blue box block logo script bottom no led. 🤗
Bonus post! Dappled afternoon sunlight sneaks through the blinds to shine upon this pair of vintage goodies. Dating to 1977 by the pot serial number, the MXR Phase 90 needed a new trimpot and a replacement feedback resistor. In addition to this, the owner asked me to add a DC input and an indicator LED. "I don't care about resale value as long as it sounds as good as an original." Done and done. While I was in there I cleaned up a few solder joints and made sure the rest of the components were in good shape for the next thirty-eight years! The TC Electronics boost + distortion just needed the boost/drive switch replacing to get it singing with some of the sweetest tonal colouration I've heard in a stompbox.
