Hey…Psst…Could you draw Phaethusa?…(info:Shes the twin of lampetia, lampetia guarded with her the cattle’s and lampetia informed Helios as Odysseus men killed the cattle.Phaethusa is the personification of the brilliant, blinding rays of the sun.)I have wanted to ask because they both don’t have pictures or paintings:>
Luv your art!:3
This was a tricky one! You were right how there were no reference pictures I could find :') I tried my best but for now they look like they're related to Apollo instead lol. I might redesign in the future but here's the sketch I came up with :D

The scene shows an episode from Ovid's Metamorphoses. Lamenting their brother Phaeton's death at his tomb, Phaethusa and her two sisters, the Heliads, were turned into trees.
Hi there! I like your art style and drawings.I have wanted to ask if you could draw Someone for me.Im asking for Phaethusa and Lampetia.(info:Phaethusa is the personification of brilliant, blinding rays of the sun and lampetia is her twin.Theyre both daughters of Helios and The ones who watch his cattle.Lampetia informed Helios as Odysseus men killed the cattle.)I wanted to ask because they have no pictures. Thx for listening:>
Thank you for the compliment! So here we go...
What was originally meant to be a sketch became a colored piece.
Doing my research on these two, I realized that there is practically nothing on them. So I will take it upon myself to draw these two more and create some sort of story around them. This is now one of my side quests with this account.
Phaethusa is said to have a copper staff, so that's what that salami colored looking stick is. I imagine that it is made of two intertwined pieces of metal. And I saw something about Lampetia being associated with amber (?) so she gets amber earrings.
I can see these designs and their characters evolving over time, but I think this is a solid start.
Here is some more Phaethusa. There is such an abundance in minor gods/goddesses.
@ody2302 (do let me know if you want/don't want to be tagged whenever I do more art regarding her or her twin.)

Character thoughts below the cut.
Slowly thinking of personality ideas. One of her traits is 'radiance', and she is the 'brilliant blinding rays of the sun' personified. So I see her as a very enthusiastic person, self-confident and upfront with things. She appears to be able to do things very effortlessly, but beneath that, she is a hard and diligent (maybe not so diligent!) worker.
Despite all this, I can see her being too forward and a bit too brazen with her approaches as well as unwieldly. Imagine her being that one friend you know who always underpacks for a trip, or the one who asks the most out of pocket questions that everyone wants to ask but won't for fear of seeming rude.
Random little things: she likes to go for swims in the sea in the mornings to watch the sun rise- she is an early riser. She sneaks treats to the cattle when Helios isn't looking. After swimming, she dries off under the rays of the sun whilst tending to the sheep.

But do you guys think, the twins in that her ate helios cows grieve the once Odysseus men aet. Course those cows are like them immortals, like there were not meant to be eaten.
Lampetia and Phaethusa are the closest twins you will ever see. They dress in woolly sweaters, leggings, and leather boots, their jewelry catching every ray of sunlight. They don’t have much to give, but they try to bring a little more warmth to people’s lives by making and donating sweaters themselves. Their faces are freckled and dark from the sun like their father, and when they grace you with a smile it’s like the clouds just parted. They are never seen without the other, always two walking down the street with their clasped hands swinging. The only way to tell them apart is by their rings. Lampetia’s are all silver, and Phaethusa’s are copper. Wherever they go, whatever they do, they leave people feeling like they’ve seen the sun for the first time all over again.
