Still hard to draw hats

Like most people, I have pets… except I have two very large, very expensive pets—horses. And my poor mare Evie (an Australian Stock Horse or ASH for short) punctured her eye, meaning it needed to be removed 😭 Her operation was yesterday and it took four hours since she’s a sensitive type and began reacting to *everything* .. the vets—God bless them— were terrific with her and she is currently on antibiotics to clear up any residue infection. Twenty-four hours on and Evie is taking it like a champ, still happy, still comes up for scratches and lovin’, still scoffing her food down—she’s a great little mare, even if she did cost me nearly $1700 in vet bills 😅 Edit: vet bills actually came to over $2500 - needed another vet visit, more antibiotics as infection had begun. On a brighter note, she had her hoovies done yesterday 🥹

These pictures are *prior* to her accident—I have the black & white Paint mare too (Babe) as company and unfortunately the light bay mare in these pics is no longer with me as she was very elderly (30+ years, didn’t know exactly) and she was PTS in March, 2026. RIP Bess. 🥹

This is a pic of Evie after her operation, stitches are holding, there is some weeping of her wound but that is expected, just need to monitor her—yes her hooves need attending too—farrier was attending the morning I discovered I needed a vet instead (Wednesday), she will be getting a trim on Monday, so please no hate. 😗
