          it had been a quiet evening. their meetings with each other have gotten more and more frequent, despite their attempts to avoid each other. ( both wanting to be arouse less suspicion to each other ) – but, LIFE HAS A FUNNY WAY of joking with them and the two teenagers usually wound up spending their time together. Whether it was out of pity or pettiness– they would listen to each other, but most times would sit in silence.

          which is why the sentences spoken to him surprised him a bit. but, akechi supposed it wasn’t a lie, right ? after all, he knew that the other’s probation only lasted a year. when that time comes, he’ll leave-- he wasn’t sure how to really feel about it. as much as he LOATHED the other, he had come to like his presence. when he’s gone, how will he return to normal ? he wouldn’t have use of the metaverse after his own plan finishes. he then suddenly realized he would be all alone.

         ❝ it’s getting pretty late, isn’t it ? ❞ he decides to toss that topic aside, unsure how to properly respond to it. after all, he found out about the probation on his own. he didn’t want to address the topic or any feeling he could have about it. god, akira was really something, wasn’t he ?

         ❝ it’s all gone... ❞ he repeats lowly, to himself ; not wanting the other to have heard him. he stand up from the seat, fixing himself. he had to break away from the sudden tension before it escalated : why was his heart beating so fast ?

OKAY, SO: there are dragons who are a little more adept at caring for things like this than others.

Naturally, it’s the Fireflies–it’s in their nature to look good for their shows, and they sort of pass it on to the rest of the clan whenever they’re back home between shows.

As a profession, a lot of them are, again, Fireflies. Izaak does hair, Nahbi does makeup–and all of them, to a degree, are able to do this themselves.

Ksathra runs the baths in the Tavern, so he works on keeping people clean with all the soaps and oils he makes!

And it’s definitely a social bonding thing, when the occasion rises. It’s not unheard of for people to just kind of crawl right up behind someone, and start messing with their hair. At the end of a meeting, someone might have this ridiculously intricate hair design, with little flowers and all. :’D
