The following morning we went truffle hunting with a knowledgeable guide and his dog named Stella, who managed to find several truffles (both black and white). That evening, the chef cooked us a magnificent three-course meal with our very own truffles. November is truffle month so many restaurants offer dishes with plenty of these tasty shrooms. They look hideous coming out of the ground but trust me when I tell you they are delicious. Hard to find too. I definitely have a better appreciation of them after spending the whole morning searching.
