let’s  get  one  thing  straight  .  my  main  motivation  behind  creating  &  developing  emma  is  that  i  want  to  play  a  bitch  <333

emma  vanity  has  never  really  seen  the  point  of  playing  nice  ,  or  playing  fair  ,  if  there’s  the  option  of  playing  to  win  .  life  isn’t  nice  ,  and  it  isn’t  fair  ,  and  someone’s  always  cheating  so  you  might  as  well  too  .  whoever  said  that  not  everything’s  a  competition  was  clearly  losing  .

she  was  a  terror  as  a  child  &  her  father  absolutely  encouraged  it  at  every  opportunity  .  if  she  made  another  kid  cry  ?  that  wasn’t  something  she’d  done  wrong  ,  that  other  kid  needed  to  grow  a  backbone  .  she  was  screaming  and  crying  because  she  wanted  a  new  toy  ?  good  ,  she  knew  what  she  wanted  and  wasn’t  afraid  to  get  it

her  mother  ,  on  the  other  hand  ,  clearly  resented  the  life  she’d  been  dealt  ,  and  viewed  her  uncontrollable  daughter  who  wore  the  face  of  a  man  she’d  never  loved  as  a  lost  cause  .  the  feeling  was  mutual  –  emma  saw  her  mother  as  weak  ,  irritating  ,  jealous  .  call  it  a  defense  mechanism  ,  if  you  will  ;  it’s  easier  to  stomach  a  mother  who  doesn’t  like  you  if  you  don’t  like  her  either  .

she  realized  she  was  good  at  quidditch  in  her  first  year  at  hogwarts  ,  during  the  mandatory  flying  lessons  .  it  had  never  interested  her  before  ;  it  seemed  dull  ,  boorish  ,  base  .  but  once  she  discovered  she  was  a  natural  on  a  broom  ,  all  that  changed  .

she  loves  the  adrenaline  of  it  ,  the  violence  ,  the  cutthroat  competition  .  she’s  been  a  beater  on  the  slytherin  quidditch  team  since  her  third  year  .  

random  side  note  :  she  wears  a  full  face  of  makeup  for  every  quidditch  match  .  bc  she’s  that  bitch

fairly  irreverent  .  ready  to  laugh  at  just  about  anything  .  but  like  ,  in  a  mean  way  yk  .  there’s  not  much  she  won’t  mock

something  emma  really  admires  is  the  ability  to  hide  weakness  .  if  you  can  take  whatever  shit  she  throws  at  you  without  flinching  ,  in  some  weird  twisted  way  she  gains  more  respect  for  you  

competitive  as  ALL  HELL  .  finds  it  very  hard  to  turn  down  a  challenge  .  there’s  something  about  the  prospect  of  winning  that  just  lights  a  fire  underneath  her

funnily  enough  though  ,  this  doesn’t  really  extend  to  academic  performance  .  emma  cares  just  enough  about  school  in  order  to  get  passable  grades  and  that’s  it  .  anything  more  than  that  ,  she  views  as  a  waste  of  her  effort  and  time

loyal  to  the  people  she  does  care  about  but  also  ?  weirdly  possessive  ?  she’s  like  a  cat  ,  she  does  not  like  to  share  the  people  in  her  life  .  100%  the  sort  of  girl  to  sabotage  her  ex’s  new  relationship

let’s  be  clear  though  ,  emma  is  a  bitch  .  she’s  a  bully  .  she  enjoys  the  power  of  knowing  she’s  gotten  under  someone’s  skin  ,  of  knowing  she  holds  power  over  them  

one  thing  about  emma  is  that  she’ll  give  it  to  you  straight  .  she  doesn’t  see  the  point  of  wasting  time  with  coyness  or  fake  humbleness  .  she  knows  she’s  the  villain  in  many  people’s  stories  ,  and  she  doesn’t  care  .  she’d  much  rather  be  the  villain  than  be  fake  nice  or  fake  virtuous  .  has  absolutely  no  patience  for  people  who  try  and  paint  themselves  as  the  hero

anyway  yeah  she’s  intense  and  competitive  and  unflinching  and  bloodthirsty  and  greedy  and  bitchy  and  selfish  and  honest  and  confident  .  she’s  a  lot  !!  tbqh  i  haven’t  really  played  a  character  like  this  much  at  all  so  i’m  excited

AMORTENTIA: she didn’t smell it. it’s a weakness and she refuses to let a potion of all things, tell her how to feel. 

PATRONUS: she can cast a patronus but her patronus isn’t corporeal. which doesn’t bother her at all. having an animal patronus is so tacky in her opinion.

OVERVIEW: 

joseph skeeter and diana bagman were hogwarts sweethearts. they had started dating in their sixth year and for a few years, they kept that spark. it wasn’t until diana got pregnant that joseph started to have second thoughts. he realized that he didn’t actually want to be tied down and slowly he started to resent diana for essentially trapping him, never mind the fact that he was a willing accomplice to this. but that’s men for you. never taking any accountability for their actions. 

so as rita got older, the more distant joseph got. diana tried her hardest to fix their relationship but the more she pushed, the more joseph started to pull away. eventually, joseph started to avoid coming back to the house and drowned his sorrows with other women. diana tried to ignore the signs and have a brave face for their daughter but it blew up in their face. you see, joseph didn’t use protection when he was having his affair and the next thing rita knew, she had a half-sister. but wait it gets even worse because joseph chose to leave diana and rita for his mistress and her daughter and suddenly, diana and rita had to survive on their own. this was the start of rita’s journey to never be dependent on anyone. 

this was also rita’s start in gossip and learning that words hold power. when her father left them, it was a shock to everyone who was  paying attention. “ they were hogwarts sweethearts, how could’ve things gone wrong? ”  “ it must’ve been because diana wasn’t tending to his needs.” rita heard this and worse and watching her mother slowly retreat into herself, rita learned how words can hurt. but she also realized that it can go both ways, she just needed to find the right buttons. so she started to keep track of the people who gossiped about her mother, and started to pay attention to the things that they didn’t want known publicly. before anyone could say anything, rita had the control. but what started as way to protect and stand up for her mother became something twisted and rita turned into the same gossiping people that she destroyed. the difference was that rita wasn’t going to let anyone take back control over her.

HEADCANONS: 

rita started to go by rita the year before she started hogwart. no one knows that her actual name is margaret. margaret was the little girl whose father left her but rita was someone else. someone better, smarter, more ambitious. 

she just finished her animagus transformation this past summer so rita is on a little high for accomplishing such a feat. she loves being a little beetle. in her opinion, the pro of hearing everyone’s drama outweighs the con of being vulnerable as a little insect.

she is the president of the hogwarts times, historian for student government, in frog choir, and she’s a part of potion club. she is a very busy lady but she loves the work. 

WANTED CONNECTIONS: 

exes: i imagine she had a few relationships so if your character to be one of the people she dated hmu! 

first love: this was someone she fell in love with while they were dating but as soon as she realized that she was falling in love, she immediately broke it off. she thinks love is a weakness and she refuses to let anyone have that power over her

friends: there is kind of two categories to this. i want her to have genuine friendships but she also could have fake friends. these are people that she tolerates but she doesn’t want to ostracize them just yet. 

victims: this are people that she ruined their reputations while at hogwarts. rita loves to spread rumors and she doesn’t care who she hurts in the process

rivalry: rita is very petty and would hold a grudge for the stupidest reasons. oh you said her handwriting sucks? consider yourself her number one enemy.

can’t touch: this is the one person that rita is either afraid of or they cut her a deal but she never ever spreads rumors about them. she doesn’t write about them in the hogwarts times and if there were any rumors surrounding them, rita tells them.

james  is  what  happens  when  a  child  is  told  his  whole  life  that  he  is  extraordinary ,   and  it’s  true .   he  grew  up  sated  on  love  and  comfort  and  wealth ,   the  only  child  of  two  wealthy  purebloods  who  had  once  thought  it  impossible  for  them  to  have  a  child ,   and  lavished  every  ounce  of  adoration  they  had  upon  james  for  proving  them  otherwise .

of  course ,   there  have  also  been  those  who  have  attempted  to  hate  james  and  SUCCEEDED .   and  they  wouldn’t  be  wrong !   his  confidence  can  tip  over  into  arrogance .   his  pranks  have  been  known  to  border  on  cruel .   he  has  ZERO  self  awareness ,   and  well  and  truly  believes  he  is  the  good  guy  of  every  situation .   he  sticks  his  nose  in  where  it  isn’t  wanted ,   and  tries  to  fix  what  isn’t  broken .   he  tends  to  view  the  world  in  black  and  white .

you  might  think  his  arrogance  would  mean  he  doesn’t  care ,   but  actually ,   the  opposite  is  true .   if  something’s  gone  wrong ,   or  someone’s  unhappy ,   he  unconsciously  (a)  assumes  he  can  fix  it ,  and  (b)  decides  it’s  his  responsibility  to  fix  it .   shoulders  all  responsibility  and  can  get  very  stubborn  about  it .   main  character  syndrome  fr

It was cold the day Narcissa Irma Black was brought into the world. It seemed prophetic, almost, noting the icy heart the girl would grow to have. She came out quietly, without too many cries and even as the Healers washed her off gently she was soft. Soft in her appearance - surprising blonde hair which was a stark difference to that of her sisters and parents and cheeks that held a blush of their own and would for the years to come. Soft in her expression - equal parts afraid and curious at once. Soft in her noises - small baby coos passed her plump pink lips as the last of the blood was wiped off of her body. Upon the announcement that Druella Black had given birth to another girl, Cygnus chose to turn the other way, storming towards his office rather than in to meet his daughter. Yet Druella held Narcissa Black in her arms, staring at her with a plan sparkling behind her eyes. She could barely even open her own eyes by the time her mother was planning the future her little girl would have. Because power, overt and strong like that which Cygnus so desperately wanted, was important. But an understated power - the kind that came with being underestimated while simultaneously being placed on a pedestal - that was what the dark-haired woman saw when she looked into the soft eyes of her daughter. 

And that was exactly what Narcissa Black became. Molding herself into the strict and unbending expectations her mother had for her. She sat there while her hair was curled and allowed her outfits to be chosen for her. She curtsied and nodded as was deemed necessary and as her mother had predicted, the pedestal she built for her youngest daughter seemed as high as she'd hoped it would be. The problem with being held up so high is that there is a very long way to fall, and while the Pureblood society practically idolized the gorgeous girl, many were waiting for her to crumble. But there were many conversations between Druella and her prodigal daughter. Conversations where she continued drilling into her how good she was. How she was perfect and beautiful and that the world wasn't going to be ready for the powerhouse she could be beneath curled eyelashes and pretty pink polished nails.

As she entered Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat exclaimed "SLYTHERIN" before being placed on her head. And she knew, of course she knew that's where she'd be. Everyone in Hogwarts knew that's where she'd be. What they didn't know, what nobody knew, was the monster of a girl she hid behind her demure facade. The girl inside knew how much she was worth and she knew that if she used her strengths as well as her mother had taught her to she would be unstoppable. And her mother had taught her well. So well, in fact, that Cygnus Black himself stood impressed before his daughter at times, listening as she spoke clearly and concisely, reaching points with a kind of precision that was hard to find even in skilled politicians and socialites. Being the youngest daughter brought no extra praise from the man, but having the skills he would have valued in a son did earn at least a bit of his respect. So she tried and tried and kept trying. Her sisters, Bellatrix and Andromeda, were the two most important things in her life and the reason she tried so hard. It was the only way she could think of to protect the two of them, because if she met every standard Druella tried pushing on her, perhaps that would keep her from pushing those impossible pressures onto Narcissa's sisters. And maybe she wasn't strong in a lot of ways but she'd always been strong in that way, not only meeting but exceeding the dreams Druella had for her. 

It came as a surprise to no one when it was announced she would be marrying Lucius Malfoy. Since birth they'd known, honestly. The two beautiful well-mannered Purebloods whose children would be beautiful - why wouldn't they end up together? Why would she be able to make her own decisions when she never had before? But Narcissa had always given her all to the things she was told to do, following the rules she was given without a second thought. She never stopped to think of the impact it may have on her future, because of her mother told her to do it she would do it. So she abandoned the ideas of the fairytales she'd hidden beneath her floorboard as a child. Abandoned the idea that she might be the princess who gets her prince one day. After all, she told herself every morning as she slid her lip gloss on, she was already a princess. At least that's what everyone told her she was. 

O N E ;; In evenings of utmost desperation, Narcissa sometimes delves into her collection of Muggle fairytales. She hides them in a box beneath a blanket beneath a hex that hides it from sight, beneath her floorboards. She wasn't sure growing up whether she would ever have a happy ending, so filling that void with imaginary tales of Cinderella and Rapunzel made that an easier truth to swallow.

T W O ;; Narcissa can speak 6 different languages, and understand 10. Growing up, Druella instructed her that men don't like smart women, society will always underestimate you, let them, stand idly by in rooms where conversations are being held and listen, because they won't see you as enough of a threat or concern to hold their tongues. So, while she may consciously fail an answer or two in History of Magic, she has spent her entire life learning languages to eavesdrop on conversations that important people assumed her too daft to digest.

T H R E E ;; When things start to become harrowing, Narcissa studies Healing in secret. I've always imagined that the Malfoy Manor becomes somewhat of a safe house for the side of the Purebloods, and have a vivid image of one of the Knights of Walpurgis lying injured on one of their kitchen counters as Narcissa Heals them, due to her steadfast loyalty to her friends, and streak of protectiveness.

F O U R ;; Narcissa is incredibly skilled at Occlumency, and has been practicing since she was a First Year. While she's not as good at Legilimency, she's starting to study that. This HC is based off of the fact that on multiple occasions it's implied that her mind was unable to be breached by Voldemort.

F I V E ;; Narcissa has been a ballet dancer since she was young - another obligation Druella pushed her into (it's distinguished, Narcissa, it's impressive, it's something that wealthy families pride themselves on), but this was one that Narcissa dearly loved. After a particularly impressive recital, Druella gifted her a music box with a ballerina in it that's charmed to dance independently whenever the box is opened, and "sleeps" whenever the box is shut.

LUCIUS ;; The pair has been 'betrothed' since childhood. A match made in heaven for the couple's parents, surely. Growing up, the visual of her parents' marriage was loveless at best, so Narcissa braced herself for a future just the same. However, Narcissa nursed a schoolgirl crush on the boy as a child, unsure if it was genuine, or manifested out of wishful thinking. As time has gone by, Narcissa can confidently say - not due to any desperation to actually love the man she was set to marry - she'd fallen hard. Until Draco is born, he's the most important person in her life.

BELLATRIX & ANDROMEDA ;; Dynamics tbd !

BEST FRIEND ;; A close confidant, someone to paint her nails with in their dorm and gossip about other people until late into the night. She's very guarded, and likely wouldn't bare all of her qualms to this person, but she still feels closer to them than most.

PROTECTORS ;; I always imagine that some of the other Knights of Walpurgis are somewhat protective of Narcissa? When you earn her loyalty, it's truly undying, so if there are any Knights who want to be a little guard dog, please know you will also be receiving Very Mean Chihuahua Narcissa who's ready to pounce on anyone who wrongs you, as well (though sometimes that's exactly what gets her in these situations where she needs a little backup)

OVERVIEW:

daisy’s parents met when her father traveled abroad to south korea after finishing his last year at hogwarts. geoff hired a magical tour guide which happened to be eun-jung’s sister and she set them up. it was a cute summer fling and they didn’t expect much but she ended up pregnant. daisy’s mom wasn’t expecting to raise a child in her twenties so she made an agreement with daisy’s father. in the beginning of her years, her mother stayed in england with her father and they raised her together but once daisy was old enough to go to school, her mom moved back to south korea. she missed her own family and the culture there and so the agreement changed between the parents. during the school years, daisy stayed with her father and when it came to summer months, she went to south korea to stay with her mother. daisy didn’t think nothing of it and she loved traveling but once her accidental magic started showing up, that’s when she realized that she wasn’t normal. 

daisy’s mom was aware of the magical world because of her sister, but she wasn’t a witch herself. she wasn’t sure she could raise daisy once daisy started showing her accidental magic so eun-jung decided to once again change custody agreement and instead of daisy coming to her, she wll visit daisy in england. that was fine with geoff but daisy hated not being able to visit south korea. however, instead of complaining she decided to embrace her mom being in england and she showed her mom around all of her favorite places. sure, she missed south korea but daisy was going to make sure that her mom wasn’t going to regret visiting her. this became daisy’s new normal. living with her dad in england and her mom visiting every summer. her parents never married but whenever they see each other, it was like nothing has changed between them. they never officially committed to each other but they also never moved on. once daisy entered hogwarts, her parents felt free to hook up and suddenly they were once again pregnant with twin girls this time. since they already had experience with daisy and they felt more confident with the kids, eun-jung decided to officially move to england to raise them there. daisy had just finished her first year at hogwarts and she was elated at having younger siblings to cherish. as she continued to go to hogwarts, she was never without a bright smile and a comforting word. if anything, people seek her out for help or for comfort because they know daisy would always make time for them. it’s just who she is.

HEADCANONS:

daisy exemplified hufflepuff’s ideals. she rarely got angry and was more likely to offer a sympathetic ear than judge a person for their actions. she gave people second, third, fourth chances, however many people needed because she wanted to be needed. it wasn’t great and daisy knew that she could get taken advantage of but she would rather her feelings get hurt than not be there for someone if she could help.

she did get arrested over the summer but it was for protesting. daisy tended to jump into protesting and she always carried a little fanny pack of necessary supplies. in fact, at hogwarts she’s well known for having snacks in her bag and extra supplies.

she is a romantic but she is also insecure. so at every romantic gesture she receives, daisy immediately thinks that it’s a sign of true love and then won’t pursue it because she thinks she will get rejected.

 she wants to be a healer and she does volunteer work at the hospital wing. it’s where she spends most of her tme and she does want to get to the bottom of what is petrifying the students but in the mean time, she would help brew the potions.

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

first love: so daisy is a romantic and falls in love very easily. so i would love to see the first person that she fell in love with and how they broke up. it would’ve been the first person daisy could see making a life together but also they are in their teens so daisy was being a little too optimistic about their future. anyway, i would love to plot about this dynamic.

best friends: daisy make friends very fast but this is the person that daisy spends her time with the most. they are inseparable and daisy confides in them the most. aside from her family, they know the most about her.

unlikely friend: this is the person nobody would expect daisy hookum to be friends with but she is. she tends to make friends with anybody who can tolerate her but she isn’t afraid to get to know someone. 

the bad influence: i need someone who would take advantage of her giving nature and manipulate her into doing some shady shit. she would ask questions but she would probably do people favors because she trusts them.
