Blu Christmas Holiday Movie Asplosion 2022! ⛄ Chapter 27: We're No Angels 🦌 And another from that era, this time featuring Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov, Aldo Ray, Joan Bennett, Basil Rathbone, and Leo G. Carroll. This wonderfully dark comedy manages to feel moreso due to when it was released. I find myself enjoying it more each time, and wishing to move it further up the list each year. Bogart is one of those stars that just manages to always be captivating in anything, and it's fun to see him in a straight forward comedy. Aldo Ray is an entertaining gem I forget about until I see this film again. And Peter Ustinov is basically comedy royalty, and is absolutely one of the highlights of the movie. 1968 : sortie en France du film Le Fantôme de Barbe NoireDans ces années ’60, Steve Walker arrive à Godolphin, une petite ville côtière où il devient l’entraîneur de l’équipe d’athlétisme la plus minable qu’il soit. Mais ce n’est pas le seul problème. Le bandit de la ville veut mettre la main sur l’auberge où il vit. Les sympathiques propriétaires sont désespérés. C’est alors que l’entraîneur récite une incantation découverte par hasard. Et voilà qu’apparaît l’ancêtre du lieu : le fantôme du célèbre pirate Barbe Noire. Ca tombe bien : sa dixième et dernière épouse l’a condamné à errer sur terre jusqu’à ce qu’il exécute enfin une bonne action. En voilà l’occasion ! En se servant de son invisibilité, le vieux boucanier veut aider Walker à résoudre ses problèmes. Mais le pirate se révèle encombrant…C’est Ben Stahl qui a écrit le roman d’où est tirée cette comédie. Tous les ingrédients du succès sont là puisque Disney fait appel à son acteur fétiche Dean Jones, vedette entre autre, des péripéties de la Coccinelle. Pour endosser le costume de pirate, le grand Peter Ustinov. Conséquence ?
