Peter Blake, George Orwell, 1965
An original sofa and chairs by Pierre Chareau set before a table by Mies Van der Rohe float in the gold-leaf sheathed living room of Eva and Michael Chow’s Art Deco-decorated Spanish-Mediterranean-style mansion in Holmby Hills, California. An imposing John Chamberlain sculpture made of curled and compressed car bodies presents itself as a columnar totem in the lofty space, which is crowned by an 18th-century Murano glass chandelier. In the second photo three paintings by Peter Blake hang above a fireplace designed by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann. * #michaelchow #evachow #pierrechareau #miesvanderrohe #jacquesemileruhlmann #johnchamberlain #peterblake #modernmasters #modernart #frenchmodern #vintagemodern #modernluxe #luxemoderne #holmbyhills #goldleaf #livingwithart #thecollectors #artdeco https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsa971Zlpmx/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=q33o1k5z7qao

BBC Series
Returning to his distinctive style of collage, Blake sees four of his newest editions featuring the now-repurposed BBC building 'Soho House' surrounded by much loved actors, television personalities and children's characters. Spanning a number of decades, the crowds include comedians Morecombe and Wise, the late Sir Terry Wogan and athlete Jessica Ennis-Hill as well as characters Rupert Bear and The Magic Roundabouts' Florence and Dougal. Tattooed Ladies
A charming illustrative inkjet print featuring two tattooed ladies, in a limited edition of 50 prints. Watercolour portraiture has long been central to Blake's work, and he has released several 'tattooed people' artworks in his time. Ghosts
Exploring the art of lithograph stone printing, Blake has created two limited edition prints paying homage to artists Barnett Freedman and Graham Sutherland. An avid collector of found art, Blake's interest in arcane and unusual objects such as cigarette packets and match boxes has long been seen in his artwork. Returning to his fascination with historic items and the beauty of found objects, the ghost artworks have been created using vintage lithograph stones to create the layers of the background, imprinting the stones' history and revealing artwork from years passed. The result is classical and curious. Printed on vintage paper, these lithograph prints have a naturally charming sepia toned discolour and decalled edge. Printed at The Curwen Studio.

Always a good idea to step back sometimes and really look at your work. Here is a moment I caught at British artist Peter Blake’s studio in London. #onassignment #peterblake #artist #painter #mamiyarz67 #filmphotography #portrait #picoftheday (at London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham)
Stock images of America's Cup sailors, Sir Peter Blake poses for a portrait in San Diego in 1992.The 28th America's Cup was contested between the winner of the 1992 Citizen Cup defender selection series, America³. Brought in at the last minute by Carl McKenzie to manage New Zealand's 1992 America's Cup challenge, Blake led the Kiwi team to the challenger finals with NZL-20. However, Italy emerged from the controversial series with the Louis Vuitton Cup, and went on to face America³ in the America's Cup matchNew Zealand built a short, wide, light Bruce Farr design sporting an unusual double strut keel and no rudder. The distinctive NZL20 was dubbed a “skiff on steroids”. Skippered by Rod Davis, New Zealand rocketed through to the Louis Vuitton Challenger finals. But, controversy erupted again when their Italian Il Moro di Venezia rivals mounted a campaign against NZL20's bowsprit.
