Guys, I'm sorry to ask, but I need some help.
My dog, Apollo, was recently to the vet to have something checked out that we were concerned with.
Initial assessment is that he has a lipoma (fatty tumor) on his...booty hole. Literally like, on the rim. I thought it might have been a hemorrhoid or something and he'd just need some cream to soothe it and more fiber in his diet, but no.
So I've started a goal on Kofi to raise money for his surgery. This includes the surgery itself, and any pain medication or 'cone of shame' he will need after.
It is definitely a surgery he needs to have, the vet said the more it grew it would start to affect his ability to go to the bathroom, stopping it completely if it got big enough.
If you can't donate, I understand. Sharing is a great way to support too. If I am unable to raise the money needed for the surgery I may need to look into rehoming him to someone who can pay, which I really don't want to do.
I got him just months after leaving the military so he is very important to me, but in the end I will do what I must so he can be healthy. After all, it's not his fault my job situation and finances have been shitty the past year.
Some things about Apollo:
He loves nothing as much as he loves cucumbers.
Peanut butter is a close second.
He loves the big girls, ie Great Danes and Mastiffs. He's 70 pounds.
He loves seeing 'the girls' at the groomers, and when he sees where we've gone, you'd swear he had husky in his Bloodline.
The only squirrel he hates more than the half-tail gray one, is the strange black one that has slowly multiplied over the years. He's convinced that one is breeding its own army.
He loves watching the morning doves that frequent the back yard. They remind him of the feathery friend we used to have in the house.
