Perseus and Andromeda

So the Titans, the precursors to the Gods of Greek mythology. The original 12 are the ones which are the ones who are direct children of Uranus and Gaia. Also a forewarning there is a lot of incest.

These are just brief summaries of these Titans

After all women first:

Theia was honestly not very important. She was said to be the eldest daughter of Uranus and Gaia. She was said to be the mother the titans Helios (the sun), Selene (the moon) and Eros (dawn).

Rhea was the titaness of motherhood, fertility and generation. She was the wife of Cronus and the mother of Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. Her Roman name was Ops. She was often depicted with lions. When her final child, Zeus, was born she gave Cronus a rock covered in clothes, which he than ate in the belief that it was Zeus.

Themis was the personification of justice, and the titaness of wisdom and good consul. It was said that was said that she instructed humanity about piety, good governance, justice, mortality and offerings to the gods. She was often also said to be the mother of habingers of death, the Moriai or the fates and hoirai which were the spirits of the seasons.

Mnemosyne was the titaness of memory, language and resemblance. According to Hesiod she was the mother of the nine muses.

Phoebe was the titaness of the Delphic oracle. In quite a few myths she was shown as having some degree of prophetic ability, and was in charge at Delphi before Apollo came along. She was the mother with Coeus of Leto, Asteria and Hecate, as well as the grandmother of Artemis and Apollo.

Tethys was the titan of fresh water. She was the wife of  Okeanos. She was also mother of the nymphs of springs, streams and fountains.

Oceanus was the titan of the oceans. He was the husband of Tethys. He was the eldest titan child of Gaia and Uranus.

Coeus represented one of the four pillars to separate earth and the heavens. To be more specific he represented the north pillar. He doesn’t have an active role in Greek mythology through, aside from how he held down Uranus down as Cronus killed him.

Crius was one of the sons of Gaia and Uranus. It was considered that he was one of the pillars which separated the earth from the heavens, the south one to be more specific. He was one of the titans who held Uranus in place  . He married Eurybia, the daughter of Gaia and Pontus. He then had three children Astraios (god of dusk), Pallas (god of warcraft) and Perses (god of destruction). His grandchildren from  Astraios and Eos were the four Anemoi (winds - Boreas, Noctus, Erusus, Zephyrus), the five Astra planta (gods of the planets). His grandchildren from Pallas and Styx were Zeles (glory), Nike (victory), Kratos (power), Via (force), Scylla, Fontes (fountains) and Lacus (lakes). From Persus and Asteria was Hecate. 

Hyperion represented light, wisdom and watchfulness. He married his sister, Theia. His children were Helios (titan of the sun), Selene (titan of the moon) and Eos (titan of the dawn). He represented one of the four pillars that seperated the heavens and the earth, he was most likely the titan of the east. He was one of the people who held Uranus down as Cronus killed him.

Iapetus was the personification of the final pillar that separates the earth from the heavens, the pillar of the west. He was the father of Prometheus, Atlas, Epimethius and Menoetius, they were often considered to be the decedents of humans. He was often considered the god of mortality and craftsmanship. He was one of the titans who held down Uranus, whilst Cronus killed him. He was later banished to Tartarus
