gaining more confidence in yourself and your body image is great because sometimes you just gotta dance around listening to whaky music in the tightest shirt you have
Motivation Monday: Progress Looks Different for Everyone
There’s no single right way to move forward. 3 Tips to Honor Your Progress 1. Define Progress for YourselfDecide what growth and success mean to you. Let go of external expectations that don’t align. 2. Trust Your RhythmSome weeks move faster than others, and that’s okay. Honor the pace that supports your well-being. 3. Acknowledge Your EffortEven showing up counts as progress. Give yourself…
I’ll admit. I miss watching YouTube a little bit. I miss my favorite YouTubers, I miss seeing the gross but oddly cool stuff.
But I’ve finished two books since, and I’ve almost finished this audiobook I’m listening to. I’ve drawn almost 8 drawings. I’ve gotten halfway through a podcast that I barely had started before the boycott. I made a HAT for gods sake.
I do slip up. Nobody is perfect. I deleted my app, but occasionally, there’s an itch to watch something, and I’ll look it up on an incognito tab.
But with every social media app I delete or restrict, I seem to end up happier.

I just want to take the time to look back on how this started (back in Feb of this year...2024) all because of therapy. My assignment was to go out and try something new and just be around people. My local library was offering a crochet class so I went! And after two weeks of undoing and redoing and lots of cussing and almost giving up I finished my first washcloth (the blue one) and immediately hopped onto amigurumi XD
@joufancyhuh wanted a washcloth, so today (after a month of just being in a slump) I finally sat down and just did the top one in less than a few hours. Still amazed by just how little time has passed and how far I've come, when I didn't think I would even finish my first project and was having doubts of even continuing after the classes were over.
This is kinda fun
So... a bit ago, I wrote down a list of goals for myself. It was cheesy stuff like 'let go of anxiety' and 'get control of emotions' and such. Lemme see if I can find it--
--yeah, here. I wrote them down during a burst of 3am motivation, then forgot about the book.
But I'd been pursuing achievement of these goals since then, even if I stopped doing it consciously. This was about a year or two ago that I wrote this all down. So... you can imagine my surprise when I found it again, and I'd achieved most of these things. Without.. even realizing how much progress I'd made.
When I wrote down these goals, I was horribly emotionally unstable. I wasn't as bad as I'd been a few years ago, but I still blew up on friends and had extremely regular periods where I'd be unable to handle being single, or alone for that matter. I hadn't realized I was nonhuman OR a system. I was misanthropic and couldn't even talk to anybody outside of my family without freezing up.
Until I found this notebook, I thought I hadn't made any progress. Little did I know, I'd made a lot more than I thought.
Goes to show the same applies to a lot of you guys as well, I imagine.
