Further Development: Personal employability – Business card design overview
In this stage of the final year, I was advised by the course to begin developing a form of marketing promotion which is business card. Where I as a digital creator will promote myself towards customers or employers from creative agencies to look on depth of the values and standard that I obtain as a designer; to take arrangements of meetings and then work collaboration to meet their needs of taking their idea to the next level. So, to begin creating my business card, I need to visually develop a plan on how the content will look like and I start with the size dimension and page layout for the card. Where a specific page layout are A5 - landscape format and size dimension will be 85x55mm. Move onto the colour palette scheme which design a bright overview of the card to stand out as appealing and meaningful for employers to observe.
The colour palette for my business will include dark-green; mellow yellow; pure gold; and White. Not as many colours as you expect to see in typical business cards, but it’s convenient for practitioner in creative digital world to produce a business card with few colours to make it simpler to display. Then fonts will chime in to the design, where I’ve checked various fonts styles in Illustrator and I came across one font that blends with the colour on the background and objects frequently-well. And that font is Trebuchet MS bold. And the objects that I enlisted to the design are mini sphere balls, where the imagination behind the objects represents the journey that I’ve partake for 4 years as a creative multimedia student which sets a direction from being an amateur new creator to fully learned knowledgeable student.
The colour for this object will remain the same as the background, but has yellow outline around the ball to carefully see the object on the opposite side of letter ‘R’. Last not but least, information will come to place in the business card which is crucial to implement allowing yourself to give essential details to your employers so they could reach to you for job promotions or providing offers to choose and visit from creative agencies. Important details can include your name, occupation, phone number, profile websites, or social media platform to follow my body of work. And the title of my business card that I decided to name that represents my 4-year journey in creative multimedia is Reformation, which I specifically chose that definition to show the employers or colleagues my evolution as a creative artist to be from average learner to improving restored student that went through trials and tribulations to get to the position where I’m at with the help of experienced professors and colleagues to maintain my ability to be better at imperative technique in creative fields.
For the A3 poster, it’s still in development as I am figuring out how the poster will display as another method of promoting myself as a digital creative artist to employers in creative world.
