I’m excited to share this hand-painted mural for the engineering division at the @nasajpl . This space is home to sections 352 and 355. Here, the teams spend long hours doing the meticulous work of design engineering and drafting spacecraft parts and prototypes. The goal was to have this artwork spark creativity and energy in their workspace. The mural spans the Maker Center that’s shared by the two teams. On each side of the piece I depicted actual spacecraft and components from the missions they’re working on—like the-soon-to-launch Mars Perseverance Rover and Ingenuity-Helicopter. Toward the center of the mural are concepts I created drawing inspiration from California’s rich aerospace legacy with influences from science fiction literature and entertainment. The color palette is an homage to surf culture and the natural landscape. Huge thanks to @loismihea , Ben Thoma, and Arbi Karapetian, and Dan Goods. Special thanks to my good friends @austin_mccormick and @zuerc for help with installation. I’m wishing everyone at @NASA and JPL nothing but continued success, as we countdown to launch! #perseverancerover #ingenuityhelicopter #nasa #spaceart #ericnyquist #mural #marsrover #starshade #artgallery #illustration https://www.instagram.com/p/CC6I0jABK09/?igshid=7u017bvqp5t
