I was gonna say that there’s no way Anakin would ever listen to anyone long enough to learn how to do THAT but actually now that I’ve thought about it Anakin is 100% the sort of person who’d straight up take a ghost/dream Qui-Gon at his word and listen to everything he says about gently and tactfully finding a way around the council’s orders…

It’s very simple and easier/more reliable than using the eye-drop tool.

1. Open an image you want colours from in GIMP.

2. On the top ribbon, go to image > mode > indexed, and this window should pop up: 

In the ‘Maximum number of colours’ box put in however many colours you want for your palette. Then hit ‘Convert’. (Don’t touch the dithering.)

3. Your image should then look like this:

I recommend saving this image so when we convert it to a colour palette, you know what goes where. (Especially when there’s a lot of similar colours.) Another way to avoid confusion when looking for specific colours (say, skin) is to cut that section out with a transparent background.)

4. On the top ribbon again, go to image > mode > convert to colour profile. You shouldn’t have to fiddle with any settings here, just click ‘Convert.’

5. Open the Palettes dialog and scroll to the top. You should see a new colour map called ‘Colour Map of Image #1′ (or whatever the image is called.) Double click on it to bring up the Palette Editor window:

And there you go. Some colours for Josephine. 

Like I said above, depending on what max number of colours you choose, the number of colours in your palette there will be. Here’s what 255 looks like:

So obviously if you’re going for a more realistic style, the more colours the better.

I mean it’s not like anyone in the republic did anything about the Jedi’s human trafficking of Anakin into the core so…

like is he even a legal/administrative entity in the republic?

does he have papers/documentation?

could he even have legally left the jedi prior to becoming a ‘master’?

and it’s not like the jedi didn’t also condone child soldiers

look. the republic is awful, but fuck the empire. but also fuck the jedi.

The Jedi sure are weapons-oriented for a group that claims not to have ever been soldiers until the Republic ‘forced’ them to start commanding clones. “No, we’re definitely peacekeepers! Just... uh... just ignore that we’re training five-year-olds how to fight with laser swords and telling them ‘this weapon is your life’. We’re about PEACE. We promise.”

Another weird thing about the Jedi is that I’m not entirely sure they actually have to answer to Republic law. Like, they’re technically under the rule of the Republic, but they’re powerful enough as their own entity that they basically get to decide their own legal system. Which... sort of makes sense, since Jedi rules are complicated and they probably should be handling their own intra-communal issues... except that then you start getting cases where the Jedi are trying people for crimes within their own legal system and then handing them over to the Republic’s correctional system for punishment. 

And the thing about that is that the Jedi have become self-important enough to feel that they can never make mistakes. Anything that they do is automatically right and just, because the Jedi are right and just, that’s just how it is. So on multiple occasions (at least in TCW) you have the Jedi handing literal children over to the Republic’s penitentiary system and saying ‘okay, this kid needs to serve like twenty years in your top-security prison, have fun with ‘em’ and just expecting the Republic to play along without asking questions about what the person actually did.

And the Republic does play along. Because everyone knows that the Jedi always do what’s best, because they’re Jedi.
