āIām fine, I just--uh, I just need to crash somewhere for tonight.ā Raphie replies quietly, easily. He very pointedly ignores the majority of Felixās questions, save for the important ones. āIām on the corner of Baseline and 82nd, but I can walk your way if thatāll make it faster.ā
The rain is absolutely torrential, hitting him cold and sharp like ice and soaking him to the bone. When he left McDonaldās and started heading home heād been drenched within seconds--now heās sopping wet, dripping like heās just jumped out of the shower. He blinks a few times to keep the rainwater out of his eyes.
Raphie isnāt easy to fright, but his cold, huddled form flinches just ever-so-slightly at the loud boom of thunder, and again at the flash of light that cuts across the sky.
Maybe he should find some cover.
āDonāt worry too much about getting here soon. Iām alright.ā He insists--Felix is going to worry too much anyhow, though. And, Raphie thinks, almost rightfully so. Itās not every day your friend calls you at two in the fucking morning and asks you to pick him up out of the middle of a thunderstorm.
God.
Raphie pushes his dripping hair up and out of his eyes, gaze flickering around to make sure heās still the only one out. He is, as far as he can see. Unfortunately, it doesnāt bring him too much relief. Heās still out in the rain, and heās still making Felix worry. He hadnāt answered Felixās question regarding his safety, but he doesnāt thinkĀ āon the corner of Baseline and 82ndā really qualifies as a safe place to be at two in the morning.
