1. When faced with babysitting a child, how does the task go?

they’re both covered in paint and raphie’s probably also covered in glitter and stickers as well. his hair’s tied up in a few different scrunchies. the house is not very clean when you get home. it looks like they had fun, though.

2. There has been noises in the forest near where they live at night, they decide to go investigate, what and who do they bring with them and why?

he brings aster and/or adalaide because they’re strong motherfuckers that he trusts to take care of themselves. he also brings his sword because he’s so practiced with it it’s like an extension of his arm at this point—if he needs to protect himself this will be the best weapon for him to use.

3. They are going to go get an impulsive tattoo, what of and where?

preferred pet names: if he really loves you he loves anything you call him but ‘baby’ makes his little gay heart flutter

opinion on true love: he thinks it’s real, if hard to come by.

opinion on love at first sight: not love, not real. he’s lusted at first sight but he’s never looked at anyone and immediately thought he was in love. it takes a lot of time for raphie to build up real romantic feelings.

how ‘romantic’ they are: he’s an absolute sap. he won’t admit it, and it’s not something he really says, but when he loves someone he really goes out of his way for them. raphie’s more action-oriented so he does a lot of (subtle) romantic gestures, like making drawings of someone or for them. it’s not always apparent because he can be a stubborn ass, but he bends over backwards for people sometimes. it’s hard to see if you don’t know him well or aren’t looking for it.

opinion of public affection: LOVES IT. he wants Everyone to know that yes this is his absolutely gorgeous boyfriend and no you can’t flirt with him. he also doesn’t really care what literally anyone thinks about him kissing his boyfriend in public. if he wants to kiss his boyfriend he’s going to kiss his boyfriend.

past relationships: lots of flings, he had something that he was sort of serious about for a couple months but he didn’t communicate that well and then he got cheated on oopsie! he’s had a few short very not serious flings since then, and then he fell in love with his best friend and,, has not done much about it currently.

“Well, I just call my mom Mom or Momma–mother’s kinda formal, y’know. Maybe if I was introducing her I’d say my mother, but probably only if we were meetin’ a king or some shit, y’know.

“And she calls me lots of things, like uh,” he scratches the back of his neck a little awkwardly laughing, “like dear heart. She calls me her dear heart.” His ears are tinted red but his smile is genuine, crinkling the corners of his eyes.

“ ‘s kinda sappy, yeah. It’s sweet, though. My momma’s real sweet–she’s a great lady. Like, really great. She’s done a lot of nice things for me, like lettin’ me keep a dog, uh,” his smile wanes a little as he thinks, “makin’ me go see Nadine when I got sick or hurt–I always got mad at her for makin’ me do that, but it was right, y’know.” He pauses, crossing his arms and looking a little thoughtful.

Raphie hasn’t left her bedside since he got here--it’s been a long, long night, and he is more than exhausted after the ambulance ride and everything else. He gets up despite the sleepy aches and turns the lights off for her. It’s a lot better once it’s dark, although it is hard to see. He doesn’t mind; the fluorescent lights were giving him a headache after these last few hours, too.

“Uh no, Momma,” he says, quietly sitting back down, “you had a heartattack. I mean, that did make you fall pretty hard, but uh, ‘s more serious than that. You, um,” he fiddles with the string in his hands a little absently, “you actually died, for a minute there. They had to resuscitate you.”

She’s right, though. She is breathing now. She’s breathing, and she’ll be alright. Raphie focuses on his knot--just a few loops here, a couple of tugs there. He knows the Emperor’s Hat by heart, now. It’s difficult to tie--especially in the dark--but that’s what keeps his attention, having to tie and retie and start all over when his shaky hands miss a loop. He doesn’t have the chronic tremors like she does, but he’s been nervous. He sneaks a glance over at her before getting back to his knot.
