I got a bunch of really great suggestions for “Survive April” images after I posted Survive March, so I went through and picked three (it was SUPER HARD) that I liked. I’m saving some more for May, just in case.

Okay so like...I couldn’t find an image of carnivorous plants I liked that was vintagey enough, but this took me down a “poisonous plant” path that eventually led me somehow to this:

Anyway, guys, I know this seems comedic and maybe even like I’m laughing at something I shouldn’t be laughing at, but the longer this goes on the more I genuinely want to wish you all full survival of the month of April. These are my lucky amulets I’m sending out into the world for all of you.

of course!! though i do want to warn that it’s not for the faint of heart. it gets gory and very, very heavy, and there is some character death (but no main characters), but there’s some really good zutara content in there! i really enjoyed the fic a lot. i couldn’t put it down the past few days. it picks up on the “what if” if katara had healed iroh when azula shot him with lightning in “the chase”

in canonverse I think shenanigans would only ensue if none of them were dating each other at the time, and if romantic interest in more directions than Nino → Marinette, Marinette → Adrien, and Nino ⇄ Alya had been expressed a time or four…if not necessarily known to all four people at the table

a lot of it comes down to interpretation. i interpret much ado as a comedy. whedon clearly interprets it as something akin to a soap opera mixed with a superbowl commercial. i don’t really know what he was going for, but he seemed to believe that shakespeare’s beautiful iambs were best shat out in monotone the same way one would speak to an associate at the DMV when one is having trouble getting one’s license renewed. no one in the cast or crew (save for nathan fillion whose comedic instincts overrode whatever apparent vendetta whedon has against shakespeare insofar that he’s willing to destroy one of the few perfect things that exist in this world) seemed to have any history acting or directing a shakespeare play, and their “we have a weekend to do something, what can we try that is in the public domain” mentality was apparent. watching whedon’s much ado about nothing felt a lot like eating a soggy peanut butter and jelly sandwich: familiar and digestible, but at what cost?

oh my word. As a fan of Agatha Christie and one obsessed with Queen's Thief, what can I say but that this is amazing. I'm only two chapters in but I'm in love. so many one liners that perfectly fit the style and the characters, i am awestruck
