ml rocketear rewatch thoughts
rocketear also adds more depth to Alya because it introduces tension to her relationship which is so nice because it does show the cracks in her personal life.
Also the nino plotline where he felt like alya was cheating is made sadder by chained titans and I suppose rocketear is one of the few nino focused episodes which is nice and we dont get that much in general.
Also it is so interesting to see Alya start acting like Marinette to hide her secret and its so interesting to see Adrien acting like couples therapist and I suppose this was a bit more of the nino and adrien friendship I was talking about so yayy and I want more
Also the montage lollll, its so funny, with the cinematic music and everything, ughhh okay I am missing how things were simpler back in season 4. Dont get me wrong I stil love season 6 and think its the best written season so far but also like I neeed the goofiness Im so tired of seeing the doom that is marinette's life right now.
anyway back to the episode, I think its so hilarious that adrien fully thought alya fell for him and also so so sweet to see how Alya literally laughed at the idea like agghhhh its so cute, djwifi is so cute and I hope we get more of them in future seasons. Also I love her line about nino being more irresistible.
Also yayyy nino smoking bubbles was there even then and it looks so much cooler with the detective suit but also nino my boy why you spilling secrets???
Also oof adrien feeling bad and getting angry that carapace and rena rouge know each other and also oof the way nino insulted his best friend without knowing, oof, that was brutal. Still though I love that despite Adrien's messy feelings hes still there for Nino, we genuinenly do need more of them together though but I suppose it drifted a bit away in season 6, so I actually get people's complaints now about adrien being reduced to a more flat character in season 6 but then again season 6 has mostly been in Marinette's head so I suppose it makes sense and I hope we get more from season 7 but also aww adrien letting himself get hit ughhh
Adrien is such a gem, hes so sweet, I do love his character and I hope we get more but also rocketear is so important and actually explains a bit more about how eventually Adrien moves on to Marinette because that line, you cant love someone whose identity you dont know is so true and such a reality check tbh stuff like this is why Im actually happy adrinette became canon first and not ladynoir because techinically it only makes sense after a reveal and I think theyre much better as the friends side of the square.
Also oof adrien compartmentalising his feelings and not talking to ladybug is oof but also there are so many more risks to what alya told nino but again I suppose its unfair that Alya has to hide but like at the same time Marinette never reveals so like you know the debate comes up what is the right thing to do?
Is it really a good idea or the right thing to do when that thing puts your job at risk? because the miraculous is a responsibility and others lives are at stake so like you know its really messy. Of course I dont hate alya or nino for their decision but it really brings up a lot of compelling questions about responsibility vs desire.
Luckily they resolve it somehow and the show fixes it I think but it makes you think how much should you let your duties have control over your life. Of course theyre kids so they shouldnt even be dealing with all this but its still interesting to think off because honestly theres no right way to superhero and everything does have some risk to it. Its why I try not to be harsh on the miraculous kids but yeah I rambled too much, now onto wishmaker I go. Bug out!
