Story time with Random:
So i was in marching band, and we were practicing drill because Festival is coming up on Monday. (If you’re not in band, drill is where we are on the field for our halftime show and Festival is our big yearly competition with other bands). I was on the hash (line on football field), so as a joke one of the other kids in drumline called me hash-boy. Funny, i laughed, i love that people are calling me a guy now. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum (two annoying ass transphobic guys who play the snare drum) overheard and of course had to “correct” him. Dee: “That’s a woman.” Dum: “No, that’s an it. A creature.” (Little do they know, while I don’t particularly like it/its pronouns, I am not opposed. And being called a creature is kinda cool) Dum, thinking: “Hash-It” Dee and Dum, having an epiphany: “HATCHET!”
What they shortly realized is that Hatchet is a cool ass nickname. I really hope it sticks tho. Idc if it was based on them being dicks, I am perfectly fine with being called a Hatchet.
Keiko Abe
Marimba player Keiko Abe was born in 1937 in Tokyo, Japan. Abe is one of the world's best-known solo marimba players. She began playing the marimba at age 12, and started gaining notoriety at 14 after winning an NHK talent competition. Abe has greatly influenced the evolution of marimba music by creating new techniques as well as commissioning and writing compositions. She also worked with the Yamaha Corporation to develop the five-octave marimba, which became the standard size for concert marimba. She has performed in over 60 countries. In 1993, Abe was inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame, becoming the first woman to receive this honor.
