The Rolling Tea Cart in Istanbul! We visited the luxurious Pera Palace Hotel in New City Istanbul for their east meets west afternoon tea. We were led through the fabulous lobby into the dining area, where we were seated on velvet, tufted pillows and brought a variety of spiced teas from around the world. There were the traditional warm scones with clotted cream and jam, but also some new delights, including fois gras open faced sandwiches, savory sesame bites and even cold tea cocktails made with vodka and whiskey. Afterward, we lounged in the immaculate parlor on soft furniture and wandered the rest of this famous hotel. Truly a unique experience!
