okay so at first i totally thought the implication here was that al is still totally convinced vox wanted him on his team purely for power/transactional purposes despite vox’s insistence otherwise (which he very likely later backtracked on anyway in an attempt to not make it look like al crushed both his dreams and his heart). hence the lies comment bc al thought vox being genuine about their relationship was a total cover up for what he really wanted from him.
BUT LIKE NOW THAT I’M THINKING ABOUT ALL THE POSSIBILITIES-
my delusional ass is wondering whether this is a potential dig at vox’s history. like if he totally made up the cult leader in life backstory (if anyone knows me they know i’m a huge advocate for the vees-were-irl-losers theory), then this line here is such a poignant way for al to both say “you’ve been full of shit since literally day 1 here & i totally see through every bit of ego-inflating nonsense you’re putting on” but also “hey i’m also the only one you trusted to know this insanely vulnerable thing so what does that really say about this bizarre situationship”
was hazbin yapping with @lunchtimebedamned1997 & a few friends & was reminded of this!! unfinished thought!! that has been festering in my drafts (AND BRAIN) for over a year!!
anyway i need all the vees to have been the absolute biggest LOSERS in life which is why they compensate for it in the afterlife with a bizarre combo of heinous shit & cartoonishly evil buffoonery. i’m talking 0 earth kill count between the three of them. the absolute hilarity & moral conundrum it presents when you place them side by side with the hazbin crew—who as of right now consists of 2 murderers + 1 murder peeper—would make me insane i fear
listening to s2 songs on loop again and:
-forgot that sera’s confession totally tricked me into thinking it was on the epic the musical soundtrack the first time i heard it without visuals LMAO. don’t ask me why there’s just something (many somethings) about it
-i know lots were arguing that hazbin guarantee was the most broadway musical-esque track from the season but for me it’s 200% once we get up there. everything about it SCREAMSSS broadway to me it’s so dynamic and the instrumental switch and swell of music and interjections with the vees and the melody- is it obvious it’s my favourite so far. if we don’t get that orchestral version of the song in the backdrop of an epic vees moment i will riot
-also going insane over the once we get up there and stayed gone references in don’t you forget (reprise)
-them staticbelle senses were tingling so hard on that growl on “it’s time for growth, let’s rule em both, take total control” bc my brain immediately latched onto charlie’s “come on boys, hop in the saddle” from ready for this & hasn’t let go since. i can’t control it anymore if one of those lines plays i hear the other in my head now
-on that note someone tell me why alex brightman possesses christian borle during the last 25 seconds of don’t you forget (reprise). is this to throw off danny motta again
many theories as to how s2 may end—vee tower destruction, heaven/hell barrier getting obliterated, roo summoning, a vee dies & introduces the concept of purgatory, all of the above—but no matter what batshit crazy thing they pull, the scene i envision as the season cliffhanger is just a shot of the characters' shell-shocked faces as they stand atop the rubble in the fresh aftermath of said batshit crazy event before the cut to jolly hotel wallpaper credits. like. you know the last fifteen seconds of the SU s1 finale.
anyway this. but instead of a worried friend calling the protagonist after a traumatizing series of events, charlie picks up the phone in a state of shock without glancing at the contact and it's lilith on the other end of the line. for the first time in 8 years.
just a blank-stared "mom?" from charlie before the cut to credits because you KNOW they would totally blueball the audience & not let us hear that woman speak for another season

words can’t explain how tired i am and yet i am determined to watch this hazbin premiere tonight and have the best time screaming about it because this fandom brings me so much joy and i have not been this excited in MONTHS 🫶 !!!
exhales in gay
viktor’s “do you believe in fate?” + the tragedy of vi and jinx/powder never being allowed to co-exist in the same universe. jinx’s s2 finale “i’m always with you, even when we’re worlds apart” realization paralleling her s1 finale “you never left, i always heard you”. in every conceivable universe or tragedy that befalls them, the only constant being the love they hold for one another. vi learning to heal and move on and be happy with caitlyn. powder moving past her grief to build a life she enjoys, surrounded by loving family and friends. it’s as silco/jinx said: the cycle of violence will continue long after them. but having the will to walk away? to give up having a life with the other, and to set aside seeking vengeance after their deaths in favour of healing, of moving forward? that’s progress— “not to combat nature, but to supersede it”.
