Look at me trying to make as many variations of black hair and grey eyes as possible. Gonfdolin would be one of the places where I would consistently give most characters some kind of makeup. I just feel like they were all fairly vain and had enough security to start expressing themselves through makeup/fashion and jewelry more like their kin in Hithlum and Himring for example.

Penlod Pendelot; Lord of the House of the Pillar, Lord of the House of the Tower of Snow
How close were Penlod and Aredhel? I mean, he took over her house, which must have meant something, right? Why couldn´t Turgon or Idril do it? Or Glorfindel or Ecthelion? Also, his friendship with Rôg, being hinted at, is important too. Do you think he tried to take care of Maeglin in some way?
I have been playing with the idea of him also being a hunter of Oromë in Valinor to explain his and Aredhel´s friendship. I imagine him as one of the Noldor who lived further away from the trees than most, and then maybe in a forest or something.

Here are my character starters for the Lords of Gondolin, which will really only become important once I get around to my *Fall of Gondolin* comics and *Gondolin Days* slice of life comics before that.
But regardless... here... look... I did them. Do you have a favorite?
All these gentlemen were drawn as part of the Gondolin Gang series for intea (my deep gratitude for this opportunity and inspiration ♥). Of course I will draw the remaining two, but now I want to show the finished ones 😃
I tried to draw different but stylistically similar and simple outfits, hairstyles and faces, so that one could believe that they live at the same time and in the same place, being in an everyday (medieval) environment - most of them had small bags for small things and clothes whose fit is regulated by a belt and not by patterns.
Egalmot got the most complex background - there's a cat there, did you see it? 🐈
Who do you like the most and who has the coolest handbag? 🙂👀
Glorfindel and Ecthelion: playing a heated game of beach volleyball unaware that a large crowd has gathered and seems very interested in spectating for reasons that have little to do with their spiking prowess.
Penlod: nestled under an umbrella with his beach read. Also has two cinderblock-sized tomes which are apparently necessary reference material for his beach read.
Maeglin: applying a third coat of sunscreen. Later seen burrowing headfirst into the sand with surprising efficiency.
Duilin: flying a kite to record-breaking heights, shattering the dreams of local children.
Salgant: moodily strumming the chords to “I will follow you into the dark” on his harp while occasionally glancing longingly over at Maeglin.
Galdor: studying the washed up seaweed with great interest.
Idril: feeding the birds. Gathering a large crowd of birds of different species. Some of the birds appear to be swearing fealty to her. A few of the chicks may have imprinted. A large pelican stands at her side like a loyal bodyguard.
Turgon: building a magnificent sand castle. Getting into an argument with Tuor about the tide coming in, during which at some point is overheard the phrase, “Then I shall be washed away along with it!”
Aredhel: straying dangerously far from shore in a tiny rowboat singing the Moana theme.
Elemmakil: paddling furiously behind her in a kayak trying to keep up, but getting waylaid by an unidentified large, many-legged arthropod (no, not a crab. Why do you ask?)
Egalmoth: wandering along the shore gathering shiny pebbles occasionally muttering things like, “is a fifth sample of rose quartz too many? No, of course it isn’t.”
Rog: has somehow organized an entire beach barbecue despite there being prominent "No Open Flames" signs every twenty feet. Is currently grilling enough food for three hundred people. Nobody knows where he got the industrial-sized smoker.
Voronwë: standing knee-deep in the surf with a faraway expression as though communing with the ocean itself. Every fifteen minutes a wave crashes over his head. He does not react.
