Will be moving onto the next step with the head tomorrow & starting the process of cutting out the foam for the body. By the way, I decided not to test out Fosshape or EVA for the beak because the shape I’m already getting from just the foam is working super well, and the method with which I plan to give it some extra form will help solidify things further.

Since there are tons of curves in the pattern, I'm letting the glue cure for an hour before starting to connect the front and back pieces now that everything else is glued on Pele puppet 2.0

Btw, the only thing that is missing from the fabric sample image is the faux black leather I’ll be using on her feet again since I really like how they turned out, but you can see I’ve upgraded my materials for this, and I can’t wait to see how 2.0 looks compared to 1.0 when I finish her. The tag I’ll be using for this build is #pelepuppet2 if anyone wants to follow along and watch her transform from raw materials into a full fledged Row.

Pele 1.0 (resin beak) and Pele 2.0 (velvet beak) having their first interaction and it went surprisingly well. No squabbles or anything, just some preening and making noises at one another. Pele 1.0 was finished on April 12, 2018, so it's been a little over 2 years since I made the first version, and it was most surely time for a newer version to be made. I will say that I'll miss the clack of the resin beak, but I will NOT miss that extra weight lol.

Ended up trimming her down to 1/8" on her face and tapered it out towards her cheeks/back of her head. This part of the process is always exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time because if you screw it up, you have to either accept the choppy job, or take everything apart and replace that panel with a new one. Thankfully everything turned out fine because I took my time and went slow.

Going to work down through the guards until I reach the length that looks best for her.

And after a few weeks of not working on Pele Puppet 2, I finally felt like picking her back up to work on her and get her finished (not fully finished here, I still need to trim her head and install her eyes, but I was able to get her closed up today). By the way, not going to lie that having the con I was prepping her for get canceled (which would have been next weekend), and then everything going into lock down seriously killed my drive to finish her for a while. And then the need for sewn masks became a thing, so I decided to do some good by focusing my energy on making masks to donate to my local hospital instead of working on Pele 2.0.  Still working on masks by the way, just decided to take a couple of days to finish her up since I felt like picking her up again.
